Van Helsing (Cont.)

"Because we need all the help we can get," Van Helsing snapped. "And these people are ready to give their lives for a good cause, something they believe in. That should be more than good enough for you."

 

Edward nodded once more, not wanting Anna to see the anger toward the hunter that was standing across from him.

 

"Fine," Anna forced down her argument. But I won't be suprised if they turn out to be traitors.

 

"Thank you," Edward sighed, nodding his head toward Hannah. He looked out the nearest window in the room and frowned. "The sun's almost down," he whispered in Hannah's ear.

 

"What about sundown?" Van Helsing asked Edward, just hearing his comment.

 

"Nothing you need to be concerned with!" Edward growled, finally meeting Van Helsing's eyes, his hands tightening into fists once more on Hannah's shoulders.

 

"I'll explain, Edward," Hannah said quickly and looked at Van Helsing. "When the sun is down we can open the window in Bee's room to let in some air. She might feel a bit better if the room doesn't seem so cramped."

"What's wrong with her?" Anna asked, not really interested.

"You don't care so just stay out of it." Hannah snapped.

 

"She's sick," Van Helsing began kindly, giving Hannah a rude sidways glance. "From all the long traveling we've been doing. She should be better soon, though."

 

Lestat, do you have John yet? Edward sent quickly, shutting his eyes.

 

Soon, Lestat laughed at Edward. You must calm down, my friend. He's not an easy man to persuade and corner.

 

Beatrice sat up carefully. Her stomach rolled when she picked up the bullets. Seeing them in her hands brought a triumphent smile to her face. "That... was.... Woah." She breathed. She ran one hand over her chest and stomach. There's... nothing there?

 

I'm very proud, little one, Lestat sent, letting himself drift toward the Valerious castle now. Doesn't it feel good, all that power you're discovering? You're friends will be very impressed when they come back.

 

"Hm," Anna mumbled, still wondering if Van Helsing was lying to her. "I've some remedies in the room next to the weaponry room."

 

"Well, believe it or not, the vampire venom in her system is healing the virus in her body rather well," Van Helsing said with a sheepish grin.

 

Beatrice was suprised at herself when she laughed. "I should be dead." She said softly.

 

Lestat chuckled at Beatrice's comment. As a mortal, yes, he replied smoothly. But you're different now... better.

He paused for a moment, and then adjusted his mind elsewhere. Oh, John, he thought, a bit of a taunt in his tone now. Where are you? Come out, come out... wherever you are.

BIC: Jinx crossed her arms. "Isn't she lucky?" she asked no one inparticular, a little sarcaticly.

"that's a good idea." Carl agreed with Micheal. "I wish she'd stop being so stubborn though... it really worries me to see her in so much pain."

 

"Very," Edward muttered back, giving Jinx a little smile.
