Jinx grabbed his arm, stopping him from hitting Van Helsing again. "Stop, please." she looked at him soberly. "Don't hurt him anymore, please."

"He deserves it," Edward snapped, though his loosened his grip a little. "He deserves worse."

 

"I know..." Jinx replied, her voice low. "But, just let him go, please..." she looked away from both of them.

 

"What am I supposed to do with him?" Edward sighed, getting off of Van Helsing and sitting up on his knees on the muddy ground. "Let Anna deal with him? She'd congratulate him and laugh."

 

"Michael, you're fine in the sun," Hannah began, looking away from Beatrice. "Go find Anna and keep her away from here as long as you can."

"You're fine in the sun as well," Michael told Hannah. "Did you not notice you were just outside with your hood off and hands ungaurded?"

 

"I don't know." Jinx answered, shaking her head. "I'll, I'll stay with him. But you'll kill him if you do, right?..."

Carl ignored their arguing and brushed a strand of hair from Bee's face.

 

Van Helsing shook his head and pulled himself up on his elbows, putting a hand up to his nose and wincing at the crack along the bone. He glared at Edward, trying to pull all his strength together in case he punched him again.

 

Edward stood carefully, resisting the ruge to kick the hunter on the ground in the gut, split each of his ribs till he bled from his mouth and throat, make him suffer for-- Stop, he told himself, shutting his eyes and clenching his fingernails into his palms. Calm down... she'll be okay... just.. calm down...

"Where do you expect me to go, then?" he asked, turning carefully to Jinx and opening his eyes.

 

"I don't know." Jinx said again, looking at him warely.
