I'm admittedly not into the PC gaming field at all, but I'm not sure what is all that special here.

I'm seeing a gaming PC but replacing Windows with a gaming dedicated OS? I guess you wouldn't have to worry about compatibility as much and you won't have as many programs eating background resources, but aside from that I don't see the draw.I feel like I'm missing something, but on the other hand I already said that I don't game much on my machine (despite it being capable) so it might be a good draw for others.

PC gaming is defiantly tough to break into in a way, since the cost of a decent rig and the whole amount of work involved in learning just what the hell the RAM, Processor and Graphics Card does, not to mention if you're going to mod a game, each game is unique in the way you mod it and takes time to learn if you're not good at that stuff.

However, It offers a lot of return though, with the fact that the games generally run on high graphics, at a smoother rate, have the possibility to customise your play style further, it can handle tough stuff like rendering more things at once, mods that change and improve things, cheaper games on average, online downloadable game deals (especially on Steam, some great games for £1).

Talking about Steam and modding, the Steam Workshop that has recently been implemented for ease of including The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim mods into the game Which I can tell you now has been one of the greatest things to happen for people who's don't have modding skills, or don't like the hassle of it.

If all that loveliness could be reduced into *a games, if that was put into this 'Steam Box' it would surpass any console that I can think Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo invent. Can't wait to see more on this now.

I actually really like this. My laptop isn't anywhere powerful enough to play the games at the definition they are meant to be played. I would honestly purchase this if it comes to light. it would be the only console I would ever need.
