Maybe the public idea of it, spurred them into possibly looking at hardware and have seen this trend?

It would'nt surprise me if they were to start selling some sort of hardware, maybe not a Steam Box per se, but something that can be produced cheap to increase hardware apabilities.

Still, Valve sure do know their PC stuff so you can't deny there claims easily.

 

I doubt it's gonna be Steambox, as amazing as that would be. I think they're currently trying to create options that are non-existent so then they would have options to work with when it comes to hardware.
