No problem. The entire giving-up of the noble rank is perfectly fine, however, it's unlikely that her great grandfather (who had already been demoted from nobility) would've taught at the magick schools located outside Mhaura. Professors of the magick schools are usually all come from noble Houses, with the exception of Mhaura, which can be run by citizens. But since Mhaura has poor funding, these professors aren't all that talented--as least not as much as the ones in Verlest and Estavel.

So please clear up those details about Tosca's great grandfather, I'm sure you can do it. ;p

 

Actually her grandfather and father were teachers before the sector split so yeah... err does that change anything?

Oh yes, Shoush, this has been bothering me: you used two distinct spellings of "magic"... "magick" and "majick." May I ask which you prefer? I'm guessing the one with the 'g' since I saw that one most often.

I made the edit, my apologies, I was referring to Tosca's great grandfather. I'll quote:

I was sort of absent-minded when I was writing the word 'magick', and therefore would carelessly interchange the two spellings. I realized this after and tried to change as many "majick" words into "magick", but I eventually gave up and said screw it.

The correct spelling for this RP is supposed to be "magick", so if you can remember that, that's great. It's pretty inconsequential if you spell it either way, however. I really won't care.

And after losing his nobility rank (dishonourable), so would he lose his job. To put a more modern example, someone could be a kindergarten teacher at a highly acclaimed elementary school. However, said person soon gets exposed as committing acts of pedophilia (dishonourable) a few years later. It's obvious that after this truth, the school would fire the kindergarten teacher.

The same thing applies here. It wouldn't really matter if her great grandfather became a magick teacher before he lost his nobility, but the moment he lost his nobility rank (for marrying a common woman), he would subsequently be removed from his teaching position.

As long as you're able to understand this, and communicate it in your bio accordingly, that's fine.

I will have to make a slight change in the prologue description since it's being misunderstood: Verlest, Mhaura and Estavel existed even during Ferawyn rule, just they were all equally prosperous. The 'significant split' was meant to infer that after the three leaders were elected, the nature of each district in relation to the others was drastically changed. I'll make this edit now.

Appearance: He has goldish-brown eyes, but his left is covered by an eyepatch, brown hair that sticks out from his dark green hat, a goatee under lower lip, and a look on his face that either suggests that he's had too much sleep, or none at all. He's a tall man of 6ft., and he has broad shoulders (or at least it loks that way because of his black coat). He has a shadow over his eyes because of his hat, but it's easy to se the glow of his golden eye under it.

Magick Ability: Level 2. He only uses this when he thinks he's missed a target, but so far he can only move a bullet no more than 2 centimeters off it's original course.

Job Class: Bounty Hunter- Like an Assasin, he goes after people for money. However, the difference is that he doesn't kill his argets, nor does he work for anyone in particualr. He simply picks up banners and rushes off to do the best he can to capture that person and bring them to the authorites so he can get paid.

Noble/Citizen: Traveller

District: Mhaura

Alignment: Good

Background/History/Personality: Kain was born in a desert town without a mother as a blacksmith's son. He never made much of himself, as he always liked to sleep and live a rather peaceful life. His father often tried to get his son to join the blacksmith business in making weapons, but Kain wasn't interested.

One day, his father went out to fetch some metal, but Kain had a bad feeling about it, so he begged his father not to go. His father insisted on going, and on that errand, he was ambushed by bandits and killed . When Kain found out, he swore that he would capture criminals and bring them to justice.

Because of his sleepy attitude, Kain's a rather calm person who doesn't react violently to anything, even to hostilities. His tendency of sleeping all the time is often confused for narcolepsy, but that's just him enforcing his belief of "Life being a dream that he can't wake up from".

He's in Valdeaunia simply to see if there are any bounties he can benefit from, as he hasn't had a good catch in weeks.

Demo Post: It was a loud night in tavern somewhere in Mhaur. While the rest of the night seemed quiet and peaceful, that one tavern was full of commotion. The lights were so bright in there, it looked as if someone was keeping a minitur version of the sun in there as the laughs of drunk men filled the air.

A rather large man, who looked to be a butcher by the way he was dressed, was boasting about how strong he was. "No one in all of Mhaur can compare to me. I can cut a whooe ox in two with just a flick of my wrist.", he laughed.

In the corner, a shady-looking man in a black coat and a dark green hat was sitting in front of the bar with a mug in his hand. He chuckled and looked at the butcher. The moment he chuckled, the entire bar went silent as the butcher loked at him angrily. "Hey, you, Outsider. You got something funny you'd like to share with the resht of ush?!". he yelled.

Kain took a sip of his drink and looked at the man again. The butcher looked furious a he pulled out his cleaver. "You sunuvabish, you're laughing at me, aren't you? I'l teach you!"

When Kain saw the cleaver shine in the light he got up and put his coat away. He was a tall, yet thin man with a calm face that had an eyepatch over his left eye. On his leg was a buckle that appeared to have a wazikashi with a silver guard and black handle, and on his back was a rifle.

The other men in the bar looked stupified at how well-armed this man was. But the fat butcher didn't care. He charged at him with full intent to kill. Kain smiled and ducked when the butcher made a horizontal sweep at his head. He tripped the man with his foot and caught the knife as it flew mid-air and he threw it at the Butcher's head. It missed by two inches. Kain picked up his coat and rifle and headed out the door.

He looked at the barkeep and pointed at the butcher "Put it on my friend's tab over there.", he smirked.

 

On most other RP forums I've been to, a separate thread is made for the actual RP, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that here. I'll have to PM CtR about it when Wednesday comes along.

And sure, clawtooth35, it might be a good idea to post who's been approved already, since there are still a few people who still haven't made the edits I've asked them to make. I'll get around to doing that soon.

@Spike: Sorry! I'll get to reading your bio soon, just I'm completely famished and have to finish some more psych readings for my final. I'll get to it before the end of today, I promise.

The appearance was already suspicious, but your description for Magick ability gave it away; your character was pretty much a rip-off of Sven Vollfied from Black Cat.

Anyway, trenchcoats don't exactly fit the dress code of the period, and despite that Kain is a traveler, a trenchcoat just.. isn't feasible to me so I'm going to have to ask you to change that. Additionally, your unique ability is far too strong. It borders the ability found in Level 4 magick (that is, to peer into possible futures of individuals), and those kinds of powers aren't supposed to be possessable by anyone in the RP.

You can keep your characters name, age, job class and place of stay (Mhaura), however your character's magick needs to be reconsidered as well as his outfit. Naturally this affects your bio as well.

Try to be more creative with your character; the Sven Vollfied rip-off was far too obvious.

I think that this RP os going to be great for my reputation. So many mods and admins are here.

 

Kagiya is co-leading this RP with me. She's responsible for a great deal of the RP's creation, so please show her a little more respect.

Also, she's not the only person here who has 'back-seat RP owned' in this thread, so if you must comment, I expect you to include everyone who is guilty in this matter. Please don't single her out needlessly just because she has a 0 post count and thus seems incompetent. She's an excellent RPer with a lot of experience.

Her comment wasn't even bad; it's something I think everyone would've benefited from knowing. <.<
