Utada Hikaru or Ayumi Hamasaki?

Ive been dying to make a thread about this.
So yeah,for those who don't know,I was in Wikipedia a long time ago and I was looking at UH's biography and stuff.
If Im not mistaken and if my memory does not fail me,I readed that Ayumi and Utada relesead an album the same day and there were rumors that Hikki and Ayumi were in some kind of a "fight"
(if this is not true,then I apologize)

So I ask you,who is actually better?
Utada or Ayumi?
And please dont go like
"OMG I LOFF HIKKI!11!because she sang for kh!"
Do so if you want but meh...-_-

I say Utada Hikaru, all the songs I've heard from her are beautiful- and may I just say that her song in KH2 is half the reason I wanted KH2 so badly.

 

Just compare the awards Hikki and Ayumi have won and tell me what you think:

i have never heard of ayumi. but utada made my buy kh2. her song made me think kh2 would be my sanctuary, and it was XD

I find her songs far more unique--despite that I think she's a horrible lyricist--both melodically and rhythmically. Many of her songs stand-out in this respect because they tend to get the "well that was different" reaction from me when I come across a certain phrase in the melody or a strange rhythm.

Ayumi, unfortunately, seems more mainstream. While her singing isn't bad, she lacks the vast variety in style that Utada obviously has on her. One bad sign is that Ayumi has done quite a bit of techno during some of her years, which unfortunately is the creme de la crap of uniquely tasteful music, in my opinion.

 

I don't even know who this Ayumi is.... so I will just say Hikki XD

 

I love utada her kh songs are awesome and I like her song be my last.
As for Ayumi I don't know her can you give youtube links of some of her famous songs?

 

I'd pick Utada. I love most of her songs. I really like Sakura Drop and This is Love. ^^

 

Utada Hikaru hands down, I mean come on.

 

Personally, I like Ayumi better than Utada. I just never really got into Hikki like I did with Ayu.

And I pick Utada, since I don't really like Jpop but she sang the KH songs, so I guess that's something good about her, lawl.
