Help Users post not showing up?

For some reason, I can not see posts made by a user named "Alex", who I have never had any encounter with up until this error, so I've not blocked or ignored him on the forums (And my Block/Ignore list is subsequently empty), so i find this error very strange >.>

From my end it appears as if Moodkip just made 2 posts one after another, however if you notice in the second post he is quoting a response by the user "Alex"

The thread is there and the other people in the thread have said that they can see his posts. So from my end, Moodkip made post #314 saying "I want Jiggly for safety", and then he makes post #315 quoting an invisible post as seen in my image, which was made by the user "Alex"

From my end, there are only 2 posts in that thread, both of which are made by Libregkd, and in the second one he is quoting this 'Alex' member again

And you can see in this image, the "Most Recent Post" thing shows that this Alex person posted, but their posts do not appear in the thread at all

So, I have no idea what's going on, and why I can not see this persons post

 

It is very possible that he or a staff member might have deleted them.

 

Actually, I went back to see if it was the same for me, and it turned out it was.

Either Alex! deleted those posts or his account is completely gone <.< (haven't confirmed the latter, but the former at least has to be true).

I'm wondering the latter because that's post Moodkip quoted wasn't the only one I found missing. There was a post he made just after I embedded that Jigglypuff combo vid that has gone missing too.

EDIT: Checked. Alex! is still a member. He must've deleted his posts in the Brawl thread, or the recent ones.

 

Yea thats pretty much it, is that he most likely deleted the post. Cause if it was a glitch in the server one of us would have seen it. So just assume he deleted it.

As for the double post, that really is a glitch of hte server not automerging them together.

 

It didn't automerge because originally there was a post inbetween them. The forum isn't complex enough to notice if a week later, a post between two posts (which happened to be done by the same person) disappears, and thus only *now* there is a double post, therefore should be merged.

Could be done with an extra line or two of programming, but I guess it wasn't important enough to consider, or no one thought of it, lol.

 

He has 42 posts but when you click to see his posts it just stands "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."...

 

It's probably a vBulletin glitch... I think this has happened before.


Anyways, I'll see if it can be fixed.

Yeah, it happened in my "Mario and Sonic at the olympics" thread, someone quoted Alex! and I couldn't find the post after I saw it, I was like, "he posted here?" and then I couldn't find out where the quote came from. I guess this explains it...so do we know that it's a glitch or something that the user did?

EDITS: When I clicked on the "View Post" button in the quote, it just brought me to the thread page, instead of the post.
When I clicked for page 2 of my thread, it put me to page 1.
Weird...

I'm really confused as to what's going on right now. I think only RvR can see my posts.

 

I was talking with the member last night in a combined convo with HB. Apparently none of his posts are seen by anyone, he's sent at least 10 pms that different members that haven't been recieved, and I can't see any threads made by him. In fact, he told me a few minutes ago he responded to this very thread,a nd I can't see him.

 

I went back to check a post I did in one of his threads, and my post wasn't even in my logs. Its like He is here and then not, I don't get it. His HB question thread wasn't even existent.

 

Sara and I are trying to fix this...

I think there's an error with the VB options for newer members... like I said, this has happened a few times before.

Alex, just be patient for a few until I fix this damn thing...

Tell the other members that it's a glitch happening only to a few people and after awhile, say that Alex!'s account was unable to be fixed and his posts will not be viewable.
