Traditional Art Untitled Robot/Andriod Stuff

Aight, like, sOoOoOo...I'm kinda bored. Been tinkering around in PS with this drawing I did in the afternoon. I've lost interest now since I'm done with my tinkering - BEHOLD SIGGY! =D

I can't really be arsed to talk about what the point of this drawing is right now, seeing as how this is just a practice drawing - it's not the real thing. But I do remember me briefly explaining...the project....somewhere. Probably in some ancient art thread.

Full thing not posted for forum ruuuuuuuuuuuule reasons. Not that you're missing much - it's only the head that's robotized. The body's just in outline. D:

The features don't look especially prominent in any way, so I'm guessing you went without reference. Of course, the model could have just been Realdoll lol.

Anyway, her face kind of seems on a slant if you know what I mean. There's a somewhat noticable difference in degree as to the angle of the set positions of eyes, nose. Well, the mouth specifically. While everything else is titled slightly, it remains straight.

This also goes for the lower jaw and her chin. I'll go ahead and assume you based the outline of that part of her face off of the mouth, or vice versa, seeing how they present the same conflict with other features.

Otherwise, very nice. And lovely shading D;

No, not really. I didn't take lessons on *how* to draw per se - but I was forced to take perspective lessons last year, in school. Though it was really weird.

X3 Thank yooou~~ I really wanted to know how the texture came off. So apparently I need more work on it, okay. *notes* (Actually, I *did* use a ref. I used a tutorial and a tinpot D: )

I colored it with colored pencils and paint this afternoon. I think it comes off a little better in color:



I'm especially mad at my white paints for not being..well WHITE. I had a really hard time with the lightening. DX So, because it ended up being beige, I did the big blob of lightening on the top of her head in photoshop.

Uuum, I'm not very sure what you were trying to say about the slanting thing, but just for the record it *is* supposed to be slanted lol. Like, tilting a bit. Here's a mini structure.

The coloured version looks really good. You are so good at that.

Ah well the coloured version looks a little better than non colour.
Though non coloured was cool to =D<3

Thaaanks, but after much critical thought, I still don't think it's giving off the "metallic" texture I'm trying to impose. Not really in the manner that I want it to, rather.

Uuum....the little "why" you think that way would be nice? :D




So I took the traditional to Photoshop and tried to enhance it a bit. I'm really not liking how I did the top of her head, but I tried. I'm gonna move back to the traditional and see how I can improve it though. It was fun 8D

I'd like views and thoughts on the metallic texture in particular, pleeease. It's supposed to be an Android. >_>

Yes I love the metalic look to it. I really like the coloring in her cheeks too, it gives a more "alive" look. Also the lip color plus the reflection of it in the metal, giving it more color/realism. >:3 The top of the head in the second one kinda of bothers me... it has like a hue coming off it.

Sorry if it doesn't make sense... I'm at a loss for words at the moment. :/
Maybe after I take art I can be more helpful... how did I even get that class. XD

It's funny because I get all sorts of different responses. (I showed it to bunch of friends) Others think it looks metallic and others say they don't get it/needs more work on. :/ So I don't know anymore XD

You're welcome. Well, you could work on it more if desired. In my opinion it looks great just the way it is, but then you could compare them if you do make changes.
