Locking your doors and windows, building a trap by your front door, and covering your house with a wooden shell won't be much help if they just decide to burn your house down.

And there's a trap by the front door, both of which are suggested by the very people who want you to build a wooden shell around your house, which is much more flammable than a three-inch deep steel vault. So pretty much, you're being set up to be trapped inside your own house as They burn it to the ground.

They are locked from the inside. Easy enough to unlock them. I would still put a few screws in if it were me.

 

Yeah, but then there's also a wooden shell around the house, so even if you open a window, you then have a wooden wall blocking your way.
