Ugly=Cool?

There was this saying by a famous painter (I think Da Vinci) that said that to love the beautiful, you must love the ugly. I agree. What do you all say about this?

 

I'm pretty sure he was saying that you should love everyone, no matter how they look.

 

That's what I mean.

 

I have seen beautiful people turn very ugly just by opening their mouths. Likewise, I have seen ugly people become beautiful the same way. I'm not say saying all beautiful people are the same way, but alot of times they think their looks will get them through life without considering how others feel. I tell you through experience that beauty realy is only skin deep. Or is it because I'm ugly? You be the judge...

 

Well, I agree with H_V, in the sense that there are different perspectives on what beauty can be defined as. While beauty may be percived in one aspect of an object or person, another aspect of it/them may be percieved as very ugly. The basic embodiment of it is summarized in the Chinese belief in Yin- Yang, which states that Darkness exists in every light, while light exists inn every deepest darkness. As long as this principle continues to be true, then the statement around which this topic is based will be true also.

 

I agree with you alot on that one. Beautiful people can be ugly, while ugly people can be beautiful :]
And outer beauty really is only skin deep

 

I disagree and agree. You must love the ugly to be loved yourself, but to be loved yourself you must be beautiful, but only if you are ugly can you see that others are beautiful. Then the beautiful people truly see that you are ugly if you are loved by an ugly person. It's all so simple.

 

Well this is a subjective matter. Though there can be truth to this.

I agree with that too, because people that aren't as easy on the eyes may have something within that makes them such a great person to be around whereas the most beautiful person could be the opposite. When i started high school last year I made an effort to not judge anyone by their appearance or what they seemed like. I've made so many great friends because of this. Also this kind of reminded me of you can't love others if you don't love yourself, which I also believe to be true<3

 

The concept of beauty and ugly does indeed lie with the individual.

Something I hate about our world is how the "Preppy" people crack down on the "Unpopular" or the "Ugly" but really come on people? Were all humans and it's so stupid when you think about it.... Leikz omg kyle is so hawt but mike is leik EWW!!!!!! ;(
