Okay I feel like these should be easy fixes but I can't figure them out today.

    1) There is a windows update (I'll post the name of it once I'm on my computer again) that won't instal no matter how many times I go through the instal process. I tried reinstalling all the ones from the past year to make sure that it just didn't want to patch to one and they all reinstalled fine except for the one that has been having problems.

    2) iTunes won't open a window. There is an iTunes process but no task. Again reinstalling did not help this.

1)The update's name would help yes.
2)How long have you been using iTunes and when did this start happening? Did you update it recently?

"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and on Windows XP x86 (KB2418241)" Funny thing now that I'm looking at this is that I'm running SP3 and the update only mentions SP1 and SP2. That could be why, but then I still need the updater to realize I don't need it if that is the case.
I've used it for several years and the issues started happening a week ago, that was about two days after updating audio drivers but no update to iTunes itself. And I did get it open once after the driver update.

EDIT: Bumping since this is still unresolved.
