i read this a while back on wiki. there were two little kids that were arrested and not allowed to be in any of the schools in their county. the reason why: they possesed death notes.

the police raded their rooms and found the two little black notebooks. it had names of students and staff members of their school. i seriously think this is stupid. humanity today is afraid of fiction. these kids might have a hard life, so they need to blow off steam. they get arrested for something fake. what the fu*k?

Yeah, that seems really extreme. I'll have to look up more on it before feeling comfortable commenting that it just shouldn't be that way, such as the ages of these kids and their history some. I do think though that instead of arresting them and removing them from schools in the county, perhaps looking into their family life and history and getting them some help and rehabilitation would have been a better option. I can see people not feeling comfortable with them in the school they may have been at but jeez, it does seem overdone.

    in my opinion

they made this too plublic, everyone at their school will know by now

maybe rehab, but arrest, they are making things worst for the kids, even if they do let them go back to school, whats left for them is rejection.

if someone was written in there , then they probably, had a reason to write their names...i mean, they probably wrote them as pranks, or they just needed to let go of the pressure

sometimes, when youre angry at someone, and you write a letter expressing your feelings, but you never actually send it

or people who write in their diary
"today X person made me feel bad, i wish X person didnt exist"
this is just as similar, and they should let the kids go

    Chervalier nailed it.

Something that concerns me is that the police raided their rooms. Perhaps there is something not publicised. It could have been a hit list, for when the students tried to do a V-tech massacre.

I suspect that the notebooks were not the main reason for arrest, and they had some other reason to arrest, the notebook just played a part in the evidence.

My opinion on this subject by the information you provided: it is not stupid. With all of the kids shooting other fellow students nowadays, I don't blame the police for what they did.

    Totally stupid.

They were mad so they wrote the names. It's not like they really tried to kill the kids in the notebook and they most likely would never try to kill anyone.

Now their names are known and they are unable to go to school. Furtures ruined by a stupid book.

Police and officals over reacte to everything and anything these days.

Did they even get a say in it?

You gotta look at another point. Although, in some sense, it could've been 'hasty', another Columbine might have occurred. With all of the thuigs and idiots in this world, you never know what could happen.

I see your point. But when I get mad I don't go and write a hitlist of who I want to kill. Did they overreact? In a way but they did the right thing.

Should the kids be banned from all schools? Probably not, but I promise you they are less likely to ever write another hitlist. =/

Edit: I could also understand why the kids would be angry if they were being picked on, but that still doesn't give them the right nor does it ever to write a hitlist.

The police should of at least check for guns, poision, etc.

I've wrote a death note before for the heck of it but when I told my parents it was a TV show they said okay and stuff. Maybe a therpist but not jail.

But now no one would talk to them, most likely, unless they're a fan of the show

Overall, I get what your saying. But, it is just WAY too dangerous to let things like that slip by.

This is why I never really trust the police that much. Like Random Angel said, th police DO overreact to EVERYTHING. I mean, especially when you've only done something as fake as a Deathnote. Why do they overreact? Superstition. They believe that the Deathnote is real so they punish the kids without even asking what it is about or even what it was for. No, they just tell them they have to go to a whole different county JUST so they might go to school. i say might because other counties may have heard of this and may not want children like that going to the school and polluting the minds of other children.

All in all, some people just believe the stupidest stuff.

Happy to have helped prove a certain point <3

Now, I wonder if those children were allowed to go back to school in the other counties?

    Superstitious much?

But maybe they thought they actually planned to murder the people.

good point pika, but considering the fact that they wrote the names

there might have been something else , likle what you said, but i really doubt it

perhaps the school parents were informed in a reunion of what was going on, or heard of it

and perhaps voted on those measures, or perhaps rumors, the possibly didnt have anything dangerous, but some parent(wich doesnt know anything about death note) , overreacted?

    that might be the case

Again, things of this sort are highly dangerous. I'd rather them take high precautions than an innocent student die. Or..the kids on the hitlist might not have been 'innocent' and rather bullying the kids.

However, we don't know the full details. I'm sure they were questioned. I doubt the police would just throw them in jail. =[

I can see what your saying. I always try to look at the story from both sides and use empathy. The kids might have just been fumming, but it wasn't smart of them to write this 'list'.

I think the kids need to be sat down and asked why they did this, because for all we know, each other maybe the only friends they have, and that is really hard living like that, there are time even now when I want to turn around and beat the living day lights out of someone who is annoying me so badly, but I don't, so maybe the kids just need a little help and asked why they did what they did.

    I'm wondering that to. LOL.

Ummm...also like Anniexo said, they could've been bullied. However, I'm sure the police questioned them over a subject like that.

I'm not so sure about that, because I think that the police think all kids are bad and just don't care about them, I kinda know, but it took them 8 hours to even start thinking about looking for me when I was 14 because I ran away from home, IMO is the police see kids who don't behave, they thing there just Yasbos and want to get them an ASBO, but I really think they need to rethink how the do things with kids, because if they keep this up, then kids are going to turn rebel anyway.
