People like Twilight cause its a published vampire-lover fanfic.

I, unfortunately, have the desire to read a book with a good story, like they're *gasp* SUPPOSED TO HAVE.

Fanfics can be good stories :D

Thing is, its a good story, which is why I really like it. It reads like a vampire fanfic though.
It's like a guilty pleasure. As a casual fan, I love the series.

(To clarify, my user name refers to Riku, not the Twilight books)

It's cheesy, preteen, cliche romance. Seriously, go read something better.

I've read all four books, I like them, but I dont see what's so special and worth obsessing over.

    Seems normal to me.

Exactly. I don't hate the book. I hate the fangirls.

I read the first book and well, didn't like what she did with vampires overall. Vampires sparkling in daylight...no. Also I didn't really get into the characters. I think the genre really is meant to appeal to teens and well, most particularly, teen girls. I didn't 'hate' the book but it just wasn't my thing at all. I can see why some people like it or love it though.
