That's because it's written towards pre-teens and the stereotypical, vapid "popular" kids with very few brain cells (note the word stereotypical - if this does not describe you, then it is not aimed at you). It's not written for people like you or I - people with intelligence.

I think if you're going to post a thread then like this then least give reasons why you think it sucks.

I'm not a Twilight fan but it wasn't completely awful if there are tons of fans. Though the whole sparkling thing...made me weep for the vampires.

a)I love twililight. It shows that if you love something then you would do anything. It demonstrates TRUE love.

    b) Good luck with the fangirls. Your probably going to die.

As if anyone cares about the fangirls. All they do is ruin something potentially good for other people.

I whole-heartly agree with this rant

I mean, I like the twilight series alot, but she could of made some changes, like Bella being over-needy..I mean come on, she suffered like withdrawel sydrome with Edward..

'Kay well, I agree with most of it.
See, those things didn't really ever bother me. I just think that if you're going to write a book about vampires or anything cliche like that,
it better be AMAZINGLY MIND BLOWING.
And I think the only reason this book ever got really big is because of fangirls like...Obsessing over it and throwing it in the faces of their friends.
That's it. It really wasn't the best, but it was a
nice way to fill up a week of my summer vacation xD

your idea of the concept of the books is true, but the reason ppl hate it is because it is portrayed in such an awful way. stephenie's writing style is amateur and repetitive and awkward; she has even admitted to it herself in several interviews. the point is, yes... she got a great, admirable, romantic concept and topic, but her way of conveying it in writing was downright horrible.

(trust me, im a professional writer.)

lets hope she does get back on it eventually... im sure it will sit on her computer for a while and she'll go back to it (not that it will be any good though :D)

And since when did your opinion become everyone else's ? I mean come on, sure I don't really care if you're a professional writer, but people like books for different reasons. In one of my previous posts I clearly stated why I like them. Maybe you find her writing horrible, but that still doesn't mean everyone else does.

Please, put some reason behind your posts instead of "zomg twilite sux lol". It's annoying.

Twilight is not a good book. Maybe a good story, for those into "vampire" romance, cause everyone likes a good story, but a good book is something that makes you want to read again, and Twilight is certainly something I'd be bored enough to read again (or even finish). A good book is usually something that sets itself higher than the stories a relatively smart adolescent could write in a weekend.

Sure, the vampires are made different, but the manner in which they're changed in Twilight takes away from them really being vampires rather than simply super humans with a taste for blood. Why it's even called a vampire story is beyond me.

    Blah, sorry for rant.

I agree (though I wouldn't consider Twilight a good story either). Twilight's whole premise is very unoriginal; it's been done before a thousand times (and in probably better fashions) and anyone could have come up with it (and as such, written Twilight).

Also, I agree with mrsbaggins. Twilight's prose sucks. It's bland, shallow, mediocre, and needlessly filled with adjectives.

its all very nice that you all dislike it...

    but...

just because you all think its rubbish, doesn't mean that is like that in general.
I suppose its all about opinion really, and how people look at vampires from a differant angle. obviously stephanie Meyer seen the cullen family as a peaceful tribe of vampires who do'nt beleive in violence towards humans.
I admit, the sparkle thing was weird though o_e
but still, it helps if you keep your mind open to differant veiwpoints on vampires.

personally, I like the books better than the movie. more detail.

This, is how a fan should react. Thank you for the rational response. Now if only every other fangirl of the book were like you, I'd actually care for vampires again.

    The books were well written.
    They were NOT horrible.

    Just the concept was.
    And they could've been better.

But Twilight itself, I truly think, was just a huge fad.

    I dont like it =3

please don't de-rep me, but i think it is silly how something inhuman is able to love a human. It's like a god and a monkey.

Twilight is just a bad excuse for.....I shouldn't say it, it's pretty offensive.
