I remember some girl put "I <3 Twilight" and "Edward rocks my socks" on a table in my technology class. Sad, ain't it?

Yeah, this probably isn't the most appropriate section, anyway.

This thread is flaming, there are only 3-4 rational DISCUSSIONS of the book in this thread. You want to flame the book, do it in the spam zone. Better yet, I think that the search function is now working.

My opinion of the books is (without having read or seen the movies) geared toward the adolescent female demographic given the themes and motifs being used. In so doing, the genre of love struck vampires isn't the type of book I would rush out to buy. Every person has a different set of characteristics that they determine what they do or do not enjoy reading. If you don't like the book, dig deeper and figure out what it is that you don't like about it, not 'omg vampires sux, this book izz stoopd!!!11'.

All I see in this thread was OMGZ TWILIGHT SUXXXS, ERAGON ROXXXS

Look, I was pretty heisntant towards the series...but then I fell into the series and loved it, I am re-reading them again. It depends on peoples opions...and your not really giving it a chance.

Eragon on the other hand...I didnt like as much, and I read two books out of the series..the first was good, then it went downhill for me and it was boring :/

It's hard for me to pick a favorite! It's like sticking someone in a room full of chocolate and telling them that they can only eat one piece! O.o But if I had to choose, I'd go with Eclipse. ^.^

Twilight: The book was a good starter, if kind of predictable. The whole love story is kinda cliched, but the author did pretty well. Kinda realistic, except for the fact that even in a small town, most high schoolers would have some kind of druggie problem.
I liked this one second best.

New Moon: I hated this one, for the simple fact that it made Edward a ****** in my eyes. The storyline was otherwise good, but I would have preferred the fact that Edward either stay away for good, or had never left.

Eclipse: This one is my favorite, because the story line was very good, and unpredictable most of the time. The only time I hated it was when Bella took so bloody long to figure out who was stalking her. I was like Duh!

Breaking Dawn: This is my third favorite. The author did a good job making Jacob a pesky annoying guy, and Edward a good guy. I was totally pissed at Jacob throughout the whole book. It was little long to get everything done, but overall a good book.

sorry for such a long answer, i wanted to write something long. :D

Eclipse was my favorite in the twilight series. If you've read the series and my name you can kind of guess why.

I agree, I thought the book was okay until the vampire went all shiny in the sulight (WTFF) then I threw the book. Cuz it was stupid. I hated it >:O
They're a disgrace to vampires. If u want real vampires, watch Angel or Buffy.

I actually really enjoyed all of the Eragon books, but they were super slow at the second and third...

I'm gonna be honest and say that I won't give the book a try just because of the fanbase. In my English class there's a paper with 'Team Edward because Jacob doesn't sparkle..' When I see and hear about a book like Twilight,I just grow annoyed. If people could acknowledge a book and NOT freak about it 24/7, I might've given it a try.

Though probably not seeing as its a love story with 'sparkling vampires' or something.

Like what you guys are saying about the over obsesses fans...It's so ridiculous how people make a huge deal about a bok that's not even that great. I read the first book and no more. The book was terrible, Romeo and Juliet makes a more interesting love story than...*shudder* Twilight. I mean, vampire love? Cmon...Pathetic...

Okay, I liked the Twilight series. I thought they were good books. However, I'm kind of sick of hearing about them and about all the girls screaming over Edward.

I really like the Eragon books... Can't wait for the fourth book, actually. This is the first time I actually had to wait for a book series to conclude.. I mostly discover stuff AFTER all the books have been written.

On the subject of Twilight... All it seems to be to me is a badly-written effort to create a new pre-teen fantasy character. It succeeded BECAUSE is was badly writtemn - typical pre-teens can't appreciate TRULY good writing.

Anne Rice made the setting point of Vampire Love, but nobodys seems to complain of that, do they?

Twilight is mediocre. I've read about a fourth of the first book and I don't know if I can stand reading any more of it. It's just so generic, uninteresting, and average; it feels like it could have been written by anyone. I don't know if it gets any better later on, but eh.
