i have to disagree with you on this, i have never liked twilight because of Edward, infact i would much rather he were not in it. The reason why i like this book is because of the detail and intencity that Stephenie Meyer puts into it.

    Best rant I've seen <3

    I especially agree with #s 1, 2 - 5 .

I mean for #1 : Hell, I enjoy vampires. Just like those old ones, how the legend started and how it STILL carries on in most books. If you want to alter some stuff create something else like mentioned! :\

#4 is pure truth, if you're lazy to show that part then leave it there for a moment but come back to it! Not only does it show lazyness it just makes the story so incomplete. I mean, does NOTHING happen there? Nothing important? Every single word in a novel matters. ._.

SO I have to mostly agree on your rant. My word, my opinion object if you want to but I'm with this. i know I was into it before but Twilight's a thing you can get over with no problem .

I agree. The only thing good about the book was the details and intencity, as mentioned~

    I know.
But a lot of people that I know like the series, and I'm just like, "WTF" to them because they like Twilight.
I don't get why they like Twilight though...

Twilight, my god. Thinking of that book makes me want slitslitsltislitmywrists ALL OVER AGAIN.

I once tried reading Twilight but only to properly understand the massive fanwank lulz that was going on. In the end that wasn't a justifiable excuse to carry on forcing myself to eat that steaming pile of scat coated with pee one calls a decent book.

Thank god I downloaded it. Crap like this deservse to be torrented to the max.

What Azure Flame said, not the right section if you aren't going to discuss the book.

But anyway, I'd like to agree. The Twilight series, which I was honestly hooked into a bit a while back, I only read the first book. Then after curiously watching the movie, I decided not to read anymore. It didn't quite appeal me anymore. It's a good book, I mean considering how SM wrote it. I mean, like the deatil in her writing. But honestly, I don't like how she came up with this concept of the series. I mean, sparkling vampires? That's crap . She totally ruined the whole vampire thing that I'm into :\
I especially can't stand New Moon, I didn't read it - ut my buddies had spoiled it to me and I've flipped over it's pages. All that time skip? I didn't enjoy that at all.

But, this is all my opinion <3 Others may object~

    What the hell?

This is a discussion about the book. It's just a disucssion as to why it sucks. I fail to see how this differs from a regular Twilight thread, if just that instead of wanky bitter posts you'll instead have shameless worshipping and praise posts. /^:

Well, going by the first few posts, it wasn't much of a discussion, just a bunch of people saying how much they hated it. It wasn't until these last few posts that it became more of a discussion.

yeah, kinda like how your regular thread about a particular media only has one liners that spout "dis book/game/everwhut be bangin yo". This isn't the topic's fault so much as it is the posters' themselves.

    EDIT: And furthermore isn't the whole point of a book discussion to voice your opinion about it as well? <_<;;

Well I happen to like the books. I'm not obsessed with them like most of my friends, but I do really like the books and I don't see why people hate them.

Well, I for one don't do that so I don't really understand the point of it.

Yes, but for it to really be a discussion you should say why you think whatever it is you think, like why you hate Twilight.

I'd have to say Breaking Dawn. I'm not really a fan of JacobxBella, so I really enjoyed seeing Edward and Bella finally get together ^^

That's why I'm saying it's not the topic itself that has a problem, but the posters. The thread itself doesn't need to be moved, we just have post correspondingly.

But that's exaclty what they were doing anyway, lol. I re-read the beginning posts and don't get what your deal is...the OP clearly stated she thought the story itself sucked, if just not elaborately and another talked about the sparkling vampires. They're not your essay length posts but they're still on topic, discussing what they thought was silly in the book.

Admittedly I myself just dumped my two cents without much further insight, what with being in agreeance with the OP and all. /:

So I got my hands on Twilight and I've read about fifty pages. Didn't take long.

Pretty easy to pick up and read. Seems pretty mediocre so far. I'm beggining to understand where all the complaints came from.

Riiight, I thought we were supposed to discuss books in a rational way here. It's okay that you think it sucks but c'mon give us some better reasonings here other than it's stupid. Vampire love = classics, what's so wtf about that ? And please do tell why the story line isn't good.

I for one adore Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, her writing is awesome IMO and she's got a really good way of describing the connections between people and how they react to each other. As well as making a good story evolving around it at the same time. I mean, before I read Twilight I thought of vampire stories as rather lame, why ? Because it was the same old, boring vampires in coffins concept.

Stephenie really did put the whole vampire love story in a whole new concept, and I for one love it.

I haven't read Twilight (nor do I plan to), but "vampire love" has existed for a very long time. Anne Rice, anyone?
