The reason why it's sooo popular is because of the make-believe Edward Cullen.

    Yeap.

Thousands/millions of fan-girls are obsessing over something they want: a perfect man (which Edward is supposedly).

I find it sad that the female gender is acting so stupid over this book. So basically, they're obsessing over pages with words. Lame.

Like I said before, I didn't hate it, but I do think that it could have been better. Esp, the ending. The last two pages were good though ^.^

The book was basically in Edward's point of view in which he summarized the story. That's all it was. It would have been nice to see his point of view, but now it's over....darn.

Bella being clumsy was just in the first book. Later on, her clumsiness (sp?) just vanished like that without reason. I find that a bit odd...

And yeah, Bella Swan is a Mary-Sue. The entire series was full of cliches. Boring.

i agree... if you want real vampire writing, read Anne Rice... anything by her is AMAZING and was just copied in a silly way by stephenie meyer in her twilight books. :D

I don't hate Twilight (I've never actually read it xD) but if an author like Stephen King doesn't like it, then it can't be nearly as good as people say.

    Dark Tower ftw.

Stephen King is a fantastic writer. His writing is so much better than Meyer's, and to the unexperienced reader can be quite a handful. I think that's why Meyer is so successful, as King said, because while her writing is not particularly good, it is so simple that people less experienced can really like it. It has a very psychologically satisfying speed to say the least, and King just goes through everything with a load of details and information, which is why King is so much different in terms of writing experience.

Both are good writers, but the gap in writing experience between the two is so huge I don't think it's so easy to judge.

But, nonetheless, King > Meyer. The Stand and Insomnia are both fantastic... oh and Cell.

I haven't read any of Meyer's books, but yes, I enjoy Stephen King's works. Cell was my first book of his, I've since read Bag of Bones, The Running Man, and a few others. Have been wanting to get my hands on "It" for a while, but ****'s hard to find (in english) where I live.

I can't really say I agree or disagree because of the aforementioned, but I think I'd be compelled to agree if I read them.

Well, I'm sure you wouldn't necessarily like Meyer's books, but her writing in the Twi series is candidly addicting. Like one of those guilty pleasures, only you really do feel guilty.

I could see Stephen King was just flaming the fact that it's not really a horror story even though it has horror aspects with the vampires, but calling her an all around bad writer? Stephen King's books are more messed up than hers... not that is a totally bad thing (Why I could never get completely through one of his books...). Plus he insulted some other good authors. I actually like James Patterson. If it's not your cup of tea, fine, but don't call her a horrible writer because of it.

Heh, I love King, like with the IT and Carrie books were the first books I read in 5th grade (and got werid looks XD) But Twilight is also good

But you cant really compare the two because they are on diffrent levels
