    Then girls will love you.

But you're the first guy I've met who didn't think Twilight was just another girly romance >.>

Actually, I like romance, but I like action more. The books were just perfect for me. It was actually Cupcake who got me into them. Thanks Cupcake!

Well I'm a guy and I like some romance in my novels. Makes it easier for me to understand the characters.

You should totally buy the book. I'm a girl, but I know three different guys... Four actually who tried to kill me for th ebook when I checked it back into the school library. I didn't really find it all that romancey. It's kind of... Stressed Love. Which isn't all gushy, in my opinion. Some of the books do get a little too romantic for me, but I think you should still read them. I know most of the guys at my school who've read it love it completely. But then again, I have the suspicions that those dudes are gay, but, who knows.

    I don't hate it but I agree.

I kind of agree with you. I don't hate the books, but I was REALLY hoping she'd be just a tad bit clumsy. But she was forgetful, ripping Alice's nice skirt. I hated Edward. He was WAY to perfect. I hate perfect people. They get on my nerves. That's why I'm fan-girling over Jasper and Emmett. They're just so much cooler.

First off, I didn't know lame was a verb. lol)
But I don't hate them, I'm just not a fan of long story books. I like books where you really learn something. I like listen to songs that tell stories instead. But the concept of Twilight actually sounds pretty cool.

I hate the books, I haven't even read them yet, the idea is just soooo over used that it has no point. I mean, is writing about vampires a trend now? Because I swear I've seen sooo many books that are about vampires, that have just recently came out. I wouldn't read it anyway, because the only people I see that actually reads those books are girls, I'm not a sexist, but if the only people that read it is girls, it's got to be the book equal to a chick-flick, except for some lame fights.

The fights are actually really un-lame. And I know several guys who have read the books, and they're fan-guying (is that a word?) Over Bella. They tried to steal the book from me when I had it checked out.

Also, I am a girl. I HATE chick-flicks. The book is NOT equal to a chick-flick. Hope that I helped.

I love you for posting this. Thank God, I thought I was the only mega hater on this forum, and I've been seeing Twilight signatures/avatars everywhere. It's been driving me crazy. I've been an official Anti-Twilighter for a while and I definitely think you should check out this site I frequent:

So, the chapters upon chapters of buildup to no battle in the fourth book was an exciting climax? Bella being unconscious while Edward and his Sparklepire friends kill James is suspenseful? Not to mention the total absence of any fighting at all in the second book, and in the third book while Edward was battling Victoria, I was completely bored. It was so obvious that he was going to win...the text made it very clear that there was no possible way he could lose.

I pretty much think it's equal to a chick flick. It's basically just catering to the fantasies of women (I'm not saying all of them, but some of them) around the world by making Edward the most PERFECT man possible...even though, in my opinion, he's not. But he's portrayed that way.

Sorry if I got a little passionate there. XP No hard feelings.

I have not read this series.
I do not plan on reading this series.

From a class discussion in my Adolescent Lit class, we spend an hour talking about the Twilight series, and the general concensus is that the book is made as a page turner for kids, there is no hidden layers or depth to the story as is in say Harry Potter. They also talked about how the characters aren't dull and nondescript.

Thus, after hearing this in class i came to the following PERSONAL theory:

This is a fiction created for money instead of a fiction created for the love of writing.

Everyone at my school, including thegirls, hates the Twilight book. They're just not good book. I just go with peer pressure, so I don't read them.

I haven't even finished the first book so I can't like it or hate it, but I can see how annoying it is when someone has ago at you for having your own opinion on something when they have the opposite.

I'm just only reading the book to see what my friends are talking about. It's kind of annoying that they just suddenly start talking about the book and I'm like "What? Huh?" It seems kind of weird to me too. And one of my friends, who hates the books, gave me a spoiler of what happened to Bella and blah, blah, blah...
I seriously like Jacob better then Edward. He's much more considerate and cooler in my opinion. I don't think there's very many Jacob fans...

I can't say that I hate it, but I can't say that I love it either, since I haven't even started to read the series. But it doesn't really interest me that much, it seems a bit over-rated, and vampire stories aren't really my cup of tea. I doubt that I'll read it anytime soon.
