Lol, sort of I guess. A lot of the Magic seems to bank on the enemy staying in the same spot. >:

It'd be interesting, the combo system would be odd though. ._.

Perhaps an attack that adds more hits on per passive skills (Combo Up and Combo +), and level? :o

Meh, I don't think it'd be as interesting. All the FF games are like that, so it'd be considered just another one of those.

Besides, they'd have to come up with a whole bunch of names for Heartless/Nobody attacks, and they also wouldn't be able to mob you with enemies like in TWTNW. It's a faster-paced fighting system in the KH series.

If kingdom hearts was turn-based, I'd shoot myself.

square enix should generally stray away from turn-based games. Now that systems like the ps3 and 360 are out, it would be foolish to use something as simple as:

    press button
    ...
    hit
    ...
    enemy attack
    ...
    press button
    ...
    hit.

since ps3 and 360 can hold an enormous amount of polygons, I think it would be better if there was real time fighting, and more of it in a hack-n'-slash manner. Kingdom hearts going turn based would be a step down.

Nothing against turn based battle systems, some games out there execute it very well, but i, like the others, don't think it'd work very well.

I'm quite happy with KH's battle system, i think it works with the game perfectly.

I like the turn-based fighting style in FF as it works well for the games, but I don't think KH should ever be turn-based. It is so much fun to be able to move around and have the freedom to do so much more. I think it would lose a lot of its flair if it turned into another turn-based style game.

I agree with Repliku on that. One of the selling points for Kingdom Hearts is the action, you just cant beat how great it feels to unleash awesome combos and finishing moves. Sure I like how the FF games are but that sort of system just doesn't feel right for Kingdom Hearts.

Ditto, the freedom in KH is amazing, that's what makes it uniquely special... and it would be a little boring if it was turned base. <_<

    Whatchu talkin' 'bout boy?!

After owning FFX for years now, I completely say "NO FREAKIN' WAY JOSE!" Nuh-uh. Nope. Never. Ever since I played FFX, turn-based is down the drain and out of the question for me. Turn based is incredibly annoying and slow. After playing KH the way it is now, it'd be hard to get used to and IS hard to get used to when I play FFX. I wouldn't be able to take it. I'd go crazy.

    Sorry, but no thanks.

Yeah, interactive third-person real-time combat is what makes KH unique from other games. You still have the FF elements, but you have to hone your reaction skills in addition to your strategy. Doing turn-based games is, like SaL13, a step down from the new ideas. I mean, look at FF:CC.

I personally like turn based games (FF VII-XII), but battle style in Kingdom Hearts is much better.
