You're madly in love with someone. We'll call this someone 'X'. They are older than you. A high school senior. You are a sophomore. You've known them since childhood and with every day, you're affection for them grows and grows. They are your best friend. You're not sure what you would do without them. As you grow older, your feelings for this person deepen and become stronger. You are able to associate this feeling with true love. You know you're meant to be, you can feel it. Something pulling you both closer and closer together; a passion--a burningu desire.

You gather your backpack after a long day of school and run off to meet your best friend. You know they have art club today, and just want to ask them if they wanted you to wait for them so you could walk home together. You figure you can go to the library and catch up on your studies.

You open the classroom door, and you see X in the back of the room, leaning over the teacher's desk and kissing them on the lips. It's brief, but romantic. You can tell, you've known X for forever. They are the legal age of 18.

Later on you approach X about it. You may or may not believe it's morally wrong, despite them being 'legal'. X replies that they are in love with this teacher, despite the teacher having a family.

What would you do and how would you feel?

I would feel somewhat betrayed by X. If I was madly in love with him, I would feel that I deserve him and that he should love me back. It sounds selfish yes, but I'm in love with him. I'd do anything to be with him. I would want to have him with me and with no one else. I mean, I love him!

However, if I could tell he was strongly in love with this teacher, I'd let him go. If I truly love him, I would want him to be happy. If this teacher makes X happy, then I'd have to let him go. Yes this sounds cliche, but it's true.
