    I'm having trouble writing the score of The 13th Struggle. It doesn't seem to be written (time-signature-wise) in common time, 2/4, or 3/4... But I'm thinking that it MIGHT be in 6/8. Does anyone know for sure?

    In 4/4 time, there's a little eighth note gap that can't be filled in the bottom... harmony line thing that I think is played by trombones in the actual score. It might be a french horn.

    *sucks for being a four-year band student* xD

    Once I get this done, I'll probably post it... >.>;;

    Btw, I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong section... XD *hasn't posted a new thread like... ever*

    [Edit:] Augh, I just solved the problem myself. Why didn't it occur to me before that I could use six NON-TUPLET eighth notes to make out the rhythm!? XD So it CAN be in common time. Oy... sorry 'bout that.

    A piece like the 13th Struggle is more upbeat, so it wouldn't be in common times 3/4 or 4/4.

    It probably is in more complex time, like you said, 6/8. What instrument are you trying to right a score for?

    Yeah, I sort of suspected that... I'll go try it out here in a sec.

    I'm actually going to write it for piano, and then transcribe that into a full concert band score. It's for my semester project in band. :)
