Understandably so this Dragon's Blood Tree is on Socotra which is an island, part of Yemen, faaaaar from the coast. Because of this it has a good deal of unique flora. It would be a bit different if this were continental Yemen, even with the Hadramaut Valley.
When I was in 8th grade my friends and I made Yemen the subject of all of our jokes for no reason. We told people we were princes from Yemen, that we were "yemenese" and that we arrived in America hidden in Banana Crates. We also frequently called ourselves the Banana Crate Boys.
