    Latest. For some reason I really really hate these two. Render was so big it gave me no space to work and when I made it smaller it looked weird because I wanted to capture the enormous size of the transformer. eh, whatever.

    Well, I would say add some of V2's elements into V1.
    Maybe even take parts of v2, and throw it on V1 to add FG efects.
    If you wanna make v2 better, I say burn some of the bg, blur the bg, and add some clipping masks.
    NRA, I think you should experiment with the smudge tool some, cause you can achieve some awesome fg and bg effects with smudging.
    Needs some work, but these are okay.

    yea.also there are some realy nice tuts that involve robots and have a really nice outcome.you should try those out.

    Hmm... it's a bit too bright for me I'd cut down a bit on the brightness and it would be excellent.
