MGR's beginning is full of itself, but they literally use that to purposely create a dissonance with the player, the design, and the main character only for the main character to be shown that dissonance in full force.

Play MGR. It's my fav game of 2013. I played it twice in a row, and I haven't done that in a long time. Heck, I even played it again recently because I wanted to see if my claim of best design of the year held up after playing all of 2013's heaviest hitters and I still back up that claim with everything I got in me. Play MGR.

edit: Look, I know my MGR qvy and my P* sig make me seem biased, but I really took my time to getting to both of these now SJ endorsed games. I really didn't think I'd be into them, and I had already loved P* for Vanquish, MadWorld and Bayonetta AND God Hand was well established as my favorite game of all time. I just did not think I'd like MGR, and I thought I'd all out hate AR. They both looked lame. I EAT THOSE WORDS DAILY.
