Too much homework?

Homework to my teachers is a complete necessity. (And having Honor classes makes it worst) Not to mention the project due in a few weeks... -__-

 

I reckon at times I am assigned too much homework.

However, I think sometimes it's just that I don't pay attention in class that tends to make my study longer. I mean, if I had an exam or something similar to that in a few days, I would be studying mostly all day and rest at night.

Assignments tend to be a pain but it's a good idea to make good habits of starting them early and know what you are going to do. If you have anything questions, just ask the teacher.

Generally, I think it's the amount of work you put in. The more you put in school, 'learn' and pay 'attention', homework really shouldn't be a problem.

Btw, none of you shouldn't complain much. I had to hand in a total of seven assignments and do six exams last week.

 

I copy homework from others... <.<;; I never do my own work, unless it's for my journalism class.

 

i don't really get much homework, just a bit here n' there, although it is quite hard.
i do have to do a lot of studying, that's if i want to pass my exams of course.
I supppose it all depends on what teacher you get. Some will give more than others.

 

Big transition of homework between Middle and High School.
Well anyways, we got a decent amount of homework, manageable but still a lot.
The problem is when projects or exams fall altogether at one point.

But my english teacher is the devil reincarnated... I'm at grade 10 and she's forcing us to do a ten paged essay by tommorow...

And she set it yesterday...

Tuesday: 8:10 - 14:05
Wednesday: 8:10 - 13:20 14:30 - 19:30
Thursday : 8:10 - 13:20
Friday: 8:10 - 12:25 18:30 - 22:30
Sunday: 9:00 - 12:00 (Test day)

 

I have Latin quizzes everyday. If not, then we have a test. History hw takes forever. And now I have to write two essays, work on my science fair project, and memorize my cues for lighting the school play.

So I'll be in my little virtual corner studying like a psycho.

 

Definate too much we have better things to do! Namine is right there is also a problem with to much homework it does cause family problems friend problems and stress!i think that we should really only have school work and get it all done in my case 9 periods.... what do you think about this?(everyone else)

 

Gawd...don't start with the school work too. It's the same amount of work as the homework. *shudder*
I have hw over spring break, and if I don't finish this lovely 10 page packet I can't see my friends.
Don't you just love school in that "burn it to the ground and laugh" kinda way?

 

Honsetly I dont care because Im going to wind up doing it sooner or later and there would be no use complaining about it

i have no idea how i got into harvard, since i almost skipped a grade. on easy nights, i had double sided pieces of paper about 3 inches tall. then the assined books,then research for science and then a pop quiz sheet on the history of england. on a saturday night. it sucked. also, i heard someplace of other that homework does NOT help kids with their learning. plus, it made me start to hate one of my teachers and i got in major trouble because i didnt understand it. and to top it off, when i tried to explain it to her, i got in more trouble. so i guess it doenst also the tacher and stuff.

 

Heh... well I managed to finish my oral presentation (at school), though I failed it because it was 8 mins long >_>.

It's not really the teachers or whatever who set the homework, it's this... big educational place thing that sets them (here, it's called SSABSA). I really don't know why they're so eager to get our homework every 3 seconds (that's what it feels like), but I wish they'd give us some more time to at least put effort into the 'ultra-boring-hard-to-get-around-to-do' homwork.

A ten paged essay... that's madness! Not even my teachers or SSABSA would request something that long!

Heheh, when my parents tried to get me to do a billion chores (5th grade), I just told them to "Back off and let me do my own work... do it yourself if you want everything perfect." sure they might yell at you or even ground you for smart-chatting (though that'd be a bit unfair, grounding you just so you can do your own work), you'll be able to finish off your homework (they just stared at me and then walked off, I was lucky =D).

... I still fail to do school work at home, anyways. Hometime is my time. That's how it's going to be for me from now on.

When I was in high school, I had more homework than I could handle. It's almost like some of the teachers forget that you have other classes besides theirs.

My college workload is surprisingly less, I thought it would be even more so. I'm just going to be sure that when I get out of here and start teaching ( education major ftw), I will never assign as much as my teachers did. And I'll go that extra step and actually show them how to do the homework, since some teachers seem to skip that step altogether and expect you to already know it.

 

Yeah I agree with everyone on this...I think there is too much!We have other things to do right?

Where do yall go to school? I don't get enough homework. I think I don't have homework because I'm just smrt. But seriously I rarely have a TON of home work. When we have Spring Break and Winter Break teachers usually plan to have tests the day before or we just watch movies. HAPPY FEET! w00t!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
