Kingdom Hearts II Too much Anti!

So after playing KH2 after not playing it for years I went anti so many times. 12 total. I've never went that many times before ever! What was the most total anti you've ever had after beating KH2?

 

Drives used to be all I used in that game.

I'm talking I went Anti Form more than I used CURE.

If I had quatrice the number of digits on my body, I still couldn't count the times I used Anti Form in my first play-through.

 

I've noticed that once you unlock Final Form you start to use Anti Form more often, at least for me. I can't even count how many times I went Anti while I was trying to get to lvl 99 and beat Sephiroth...

 

This isn't entirely true, iirc the game uses a count system. Each form gives you a different number of points, depending upon the form. When that counter reaches a certain number, your likelihood of going into Anti-Form increases. Final Form, unlike the rest of the forms, subtracts points from the counter, decreasing your chances of reaching Anti-Form.

I could be wrong though. Anti-Form did show up for me quite a bit, I used drive forms a lot.

 

That is what I always heard.

Valor = +1
Wisdom = +1
Master = +2
Anti = -4
Final = -10 (I've heard varying numbers here, point is a lot)

 

Number of antipoints recieved:
Valor/Wisdom/Master form=+1
A form activated while a partner is unconsious=+0
Turn into antiform=-4
Final form is activated=-10
New form obtained=points drop back to 0

The probability is as follows:
0-4 antipoints=0%
5-9 antipoints=10%
10+ antipoints=25%

Side note:
You are 10x more likely to turn into antiform when against Xemnas (armor)
4x more likely against an organisation member
2x as likely in any other mission battle
There are some battles which antiform can never appear e.g. battle against Pete, Barbossa or any other battle where a character who isn;t normally in your party helps out (i.e. Hercules)

To answer the question, the first time I played I turned into antiform 0 times, but then again I didn't use forms because I didn't understand them. Some games I just seem to attract the antiform, other games I rarely get him.

 

Before I got Final Form, I got Anitform quite a lot, generally because whenever I could go into Master Form I did. On my first playthrough, I remember vividly getting antiform 6 times in a row against Xigbar, just die to the amout of times I drove into Master Form (I dunno, for some reason I never get Anitform from Wisdom, and from Valor very rarely). However, on my second playthrough, I was determined to get Final Form before fighting Xigbar and so I grinded for it, and I finally got it. After that, I never used any other form aside from leveling them up for the Hades Paradox Cup, so I never really drove into Anti after that due to it being impossible to drive into Anti from Final.

Slightly off topic, is there an official canon explanation as to why Antiform exists? I don't really see why it's there, other than it being a penalty for abusing Drive forms. Anyone know?

 

As for something official, no. At least not yet. It sounds like something Yen-Sid would explain but of course he vanishes after you get your first drive form. I wonder if that disappearence is adressed in Coded. But anyway I've heard a few theories on Anti. Main two I hear is that is a either a reaction to his time as a heartless or a Yin-Yang style reaction.

 

I personally LOVED using Anti-Form! I believe I went Anti-Form 16 times, and I loved it every time!

This may not be official, but it came from Nomura. He said that it was a side-effect of Sora turning into a Heartless towards the end of the first game.

 

I remember my first playthrough. Whenever I was in a big battle and I knew Wich form would best for the situation I would turn anti and get all ticked off thinking the game gliched on me only to find that it always helped me . All in all I had went ant like 17 times befor I finished.

 

I used to abuse forms so whenever boss fights came up it was always anti. I got sick of it after a few times. I think I used it a total of like 15 times my first playthrough. Valor Form, however, for me, was another story. 48 times was my total usage of Valor Form after 200 hours of gameplay.

 

my anti form record is about 27 times! I turned into anti form alot beating the nobody bosses lol

 

I've turned into Anti-form 46 times. Valor/Wisdom/Master form training abuse.

 

I never went into Anti-form too much when I played on all the difficulties.
I only went into Anti when I had almost defeated a challenging boss and had nearly no health, which freaking annoyed me because it was usually fights where mickey wasn't available.

 

Most I ever got was arround 75 (I think 73 but it was a while ago) I had been trying to see if there was a way to train anti. It seems like it was something they were considering durring production but ultimately didn't.

 

Never used Anti-form much I think by the end of the game it was about 6 times I've used it. I felt that the high kicks and jumps can get annoying. The most I've used was valor/wisdom I believe, probably around 60 times or so.

 

I hardly ever used drive form, i didnt want to deplete the drive bar xD But the first time i got anti form was near the final boss.

 

The only time I go Anti-Form is in The World That Never Was, inside the castle, especially during the fight with Xigbar. I've never actually achieved Final Form before - I don't know how to do it, so I've never really cared much about it, but I suppose if it happens, it happens.

 

Final form is unlocked when you've played a lot and used tons of drive forms. Anyway i didnt get Anti form all that much... Maybe, 10 times during a playthrough...?

 

Yep, you just need to play for a while and use drive forms alot.

A quick way to unlock final form is to
- Enter the Cerberus Cup
- Use a drive form
- If you dont transform into final form simply press "Start" and select "Retry"
- Once you get final form just complete the cup and there you have it
