I hate when the parents are involved. It makes me sick, and then I find myself wondering if my parents would ever do this to me. I hope they find him, it's a horrible thing for a parent to find their child's body.

Not to sound like I like it when stuff like this happens, But I find it amusing when they are. Then I wonder why... O.o Why the duece would a parent abduct they own freaking kid? Desperate? Stupid? Who knows. It's one of those things that can't be explained correctly.

May I have the link to this story please?

Praying? Is that the only way you are planning on helping?
Aren't you planning on helping in any other way?
Idk know about ya'll but I am going to find a charity that specializes in preventing children snatching.

How else should we help?! Unless we see the kid there's nothing we can do =/.

@Wacko - Some parents, when separated from their child due to a divorce, arrest etc., will do anything to regain custody of the child.

    That's really sad...
It reminds me of when a friend of mine from Elementary School was abducted by their father who murdered her soon after because his wife divorced him for someone else...I miss her. ><

    WTF?
    How else can ya'll help?!
Ya'll could donate to the police department who is conducting the search.
Also ya'll could memorize the face of the child, and ya'll could donate to an organazation that specializes in finding lost kids.
Hard work, and charity will do you alot more good than hoping.

Donate to the police department? How exactly do we go about doing that? Are you going to do that?
And as for the organization, we're not helping the kid directly if we donate to them are we?

    All great questions.
    1. Look up the police department.
    2. Put some money in an envolope, and send it to the police station.
    3. No **** sherlock. Of course you are not going to be helping directly, but you will help increase the odds that events like these can be solved more often.

First of all, are you or are you not going to be doing this yourself? If you aren't you are in no position to tell us to do so.

Second of all, not all of us can afford to send off donations to some random investigation for a case of a missing child. There are thousands of cases just like this, what makes this case so special? I'm not trying to say that it isn't sad or that I don't care -- I do -- However I don't have money to send to them, and they're not even anywhere near me. Sometimes all we can do is hope. I can't even drive yet, so even if I did have the money it would rest on my parents to drive it to the post office and drop it off. What if they forget? What if they don't want to?

And yeah, I can see why donating to an organization like that would help cases like this in general, but this has nothing to do with this particular case. And even if they can 'be solved' more often, oftentimes when situations like this occur the child ends up dead or injured long before they are located. People who do these awful things aren't complete idiots, they do what they want to do with their victims right away. Donating money to a charity will not do anything to solve that.

There's nothing wrong with praying. Some of us can't do much more. If you can, then by all means, practice what you preach and do it.

oh no. >_< That's horrible. D= Pray that the kid is found. and NOT as a corspe.

and about the donation to the police department. I kinda see no point to it. To look for someone missing doesn't require that much money that there needs to be donations.

Are YOU going to do this? Otherwise, I'd suspect you became hostile merely due to the guy/girl mentioning prayer (a practice you have distaste for, being non-religious and all like yours truly).
How does it take green paper to find a little kid, anyway? As far I know, it takes the uncanny ability to use your five senses.

Of course I am going to F'n do somthing about it! I ain't no hypocrite.
I am going to look for this charity, and I am going to donate to it too.

You can see if there is a local post office that you could walk/ride your bike to.
If there is one thing I learned over my summer vacation is that you should never ever doubt yourself.
Okay I will tell you a story:
It was around 1pm, and me and my faimly where heading down to Florida, but we had to stop at a gas station, so we stoped at... Tyransouras gas station(I think).
Any way somthing caught my eye outside the car. It was a little dog who was drinking some sort of liquid that looked like gasoline on the ground. I went inside to ask if anyone there owned the dog and the lady there told me that someone just droped that dog of a week ago, and that it's been here ever since.
Also someone had just dropped of another dog at that gas station!
The lady at the register said I could call the humaine society, but guess what I said.
    Guess what I said.
I said "I'd love to help, but I am just from Ohio" That's exactly what I said, and when we left I relized I could have easily have called an operator, and asked for the local humaine society, but I didn't.
I asked my grandpa if we could turn around, but he said it was too late.
I could have made a difference, but all I did was nothing.
Why? Because I didn't believe in myself.

Yes I am going to do this!
I am not hostile, I think. Am I being hostile?:S

    Well, okay, I don't know about hostility, but you sure seemed rather... Unnerved (I have a limited vocabulary, as you can see). ^^;;

That still does not solve the problem that I do not have the money in the first place, and I already know there is not a post office within walking or biking distance.

And okay, you've mentioned the charity, but what about this police station you were so worried about? That is the area specific to this case and if you're not going to donate to them it ruins the entire point of your argument.

And even if you didn't mean to be, you did sound quite hostile. You basically said that we aren't allowed to pray, that we have to donate, and that it's ridiculous that we weren't doing that from the start. But again, not all of us can. It's got nothing to do with 'believing in yourself.' I do not have the money and therefore I am physically incapable of donating. The difference between my problem and yours is that you were physically capable of calling, thus it isn't a good example in my case.

I'm sure they will appreciate your help, but unfortunately I cannot help in that way. =/

Okay then there is wall you can't climb. Look for another one.
The point of my argument is that there is always somthing you can do to fix a problem. Once I find this news link I will see what I can do to help the search team. [/QUOTE]
I am really sorry, I sometimes let my emotions get the better of me.
I wasn't saying you couldn't pray, I was saying there are more ways to help than just praying. You could share the story at church if it makes you feel better.
Praying is just like hope, you need hope, but you also need some effort behind the hope for your hopes to become reality. You know what I mean? If you can't find a way to work around it then thats fine.
Again I sincerly apologize for my actions earlier, and I hope you can forgive me.

I hope you do know that the police are sometimes useless in some of these cases...right?
