Time Travel is the best plot device in a gaming. Period.

I enjoyed them. Though Final Frontier was a bit... lacking compared to 3. I know it was made by someone else. Well if everyone keeps repeating how good the first two are then when I do play them I guess I'll really enjoy them. Though I do think Jak looks cooler in Jak 3.​

 

Still doubt I could afford putting together a development team for a Ps2-esque quality game. And I would kinda want to make a game on the current consoles (or next, whichever), as they are really lacking in platformers.

Well yeah, most are of the opinion that Precursor Legacy was both more fun and original than Jak 2, but it was still a great game that a lot of people loved.

 

How very depressing. Considering that you can move forward past the point where he teaches you, it isn't stable.

Why did they go for the weak plot device?

 

Why not just develop it as homebrew for the PS2?

To me it was. I breezed through Precursors Legacy, 3, and X, but spent years on 2. Mainly because I have a tendency of rage-quitting games when I get stuck and not returning to them for months, and then starting over. But it took a good 3-4 years before I managed to beat Jak 2 *is a sucky excuse of a gamer*

 

Final Frontier was awful. You should get the Jak and Daxter collection if you have a PS3.

Because barely anyone would play it. The OUYA is all the rage right now.

True. There's always kickstarter though, and the OUYA doesn't have any licensing fees. It does take a lot for development though, I know.

It wasn't THAT bad. Nothing compared to 3 but they at least tried. Final boss having no music is what ruined it for me. Also the bold is why I can't play that.​

even though time travel's been beaten to death and leaves more things unexplained and convoluted most of the time I liked how it was handled in Okami and even briefly in Skyward Sword.

So cool fighting that certain enemy again while that certain enemy was in that certain enemy's prime :>

GTF with Okamis handling of it, making me fight Orochi for the 2nd time, and then what would be the 3rd later on, terrible gameplay mechanic, i could've handled 2, but that time travel thing was annoying.
