Time to Rise Again

Leon remained silent after hearing the bad news. He didn't have anything to say but the awkward moment was cut short before he could answer the question she left him with by a rather pushy member of their group. His attitude suddenly snapped back into place, "I'll pass. I work better alone, I don't remember being powerless", he mocked as he started to walk away. He raised his hand up behind him as a single wave of his hand signed his farewell, "Maybe I'll bump into you in some other world".

 

Cat saw him walk away and decided to take action.
"Hey!"
She grabbed him by the wrist to try and stop him from walking away.
"You can't just walk away! You'd be putting the worlds in danger of total annihilation!We may have five people already but that doesn't mean that we're all able to beat this threat yet. You can't do this alone... and neither can we."
Cat hoped her talk could get him to stay. If it couldn't then she was out of options.

 

"Cat," Asuka said. "Back away."
She faced Leon. "You say you're strong. That you work better alone. But I'll bet you're like me, never had a close friend in your life. I'll let you walk away from here," she said, summoning her Keyblade, "If you can defeat me. One on one. All out brawl."

 

Crimson was commenting on what was happening. "Look at her man, she always did this kind of stuff when we were kids. She never wanted anyone to be left out, even if we were playing a simple game of tag. She has to be the spitting image of Sora." Crimson's heart was lifiting. "Good to see some things never change." He then saw Asuka and let out a hearty laugh. "C'mon guys, if anyone's gonna spar with Cat, it's gonna be me."

Luna decided to comment with Shinji. "It's good to see these two sould brought back together, right? Maybe the five--no, six of us, will have what it takes."

 

"Askua!? Are you insane? I can tell by this guy's looks that he's not gonna be a pushover! You can't win this... at least, you can't win it alone."
Cat grinned and summoned her keys.
"Like it or not i'm fighting with you."
She turned to face Leon.
"You can't walk away from Keyblade wielders so easily... shouldn't you know that?"

 

Leon was already annoyed by the persistence of Cat when he was challenged by Asuka. "I don't see what I get out of fighting you. I could just as easily keep walking", he replied yanking his wrist out of Cat's grip and looking over his shoulder from the right side. Then he saw that Cat was willing to fight him as well. "Quite the bullies, eh? I guess I'll have to teach you a lesson in manners", he mocked straightly while turning and summoning his keyblade.

 

Asuka closed her eyes. "Cat, there are some battles that you have to fight alone. All of us undoubtedly will. You're still weakened from the last fight anyway."
There was no room for negotiating in Asuka's voice. She then added, "And perhaps you haven't noticed, but," she moved into an offensive position, "I'm no pushover myself."

 

Cat was quite annoyed by Asuka's persistence in getting her to walk away.
"You know what's funny? I never said you were a pushover... you just assumed the worst. Nowadays everyone does. And i'm NOT WEAK! If you're just gonna assume these things then i'm better off fighting him myself!"
Cat nearly screamed out that last part. She was mad, and when she got mad she was a beast in combat. She ran towards Leon and dodged abything he threw at her. Her keys could do amazing things if you could tap into their true power. She came behind Leon and before he had time to think about blocking or countering her she struck him down with a single blow.
"..."
She looked straight at Asuka.
"...do you still think i'm weak?"
She looked back down at Leon and her Keyblades just disappeared. She walked away and she felt stronger already. She had only been able to that once before... the day she was taken away from her home.

 

OOC: Godmodding. Perma-banned.

Just kidding, but that is pretty much the worst kind of godmodding.

 

Asuka growled. "No Cat. I didn't doubt your strength. But you doubted mine. I can't win alone, you said? Even if I couldn't, there's more honor in losing a fair fight than rushing blindly into battle."
She walked over to Leon and offered him a Hi-Potion. "It's not that you're not strong, Cat. You're immature. Strength...battles...they don't make a hero. You have a lot to learn still." Stepping away from Cat, she said to Leon, "I apologize. If you're willing, I'll still fight you, one-on-one."

 

"Like sisters," Crimson commented to Shinji. "I can tell that Asuka's going to be a very powerful ally. We'll, I'm bored and you two need practice. What do you say Shinji, Luna? Wanna duel?"

Cat stopped for a second to listen to Asuka. When she was finished talking she continued to walk away.
Nngh... I can't do anything right, can I? I'll never be able to live up to people's expectations like this. They see me with Sora's keyblade and i'm related to Sora but that doesn't mean that I am Sora! Why can't they just understand...? I can't be the totally amazing, wins against all odds, hero that they all want... i'm just too weak. What Asuka doesn't get is that the only thing i'm good at is fighting, and i'm still not as good as i've gotta be... heh. None of them can ever understand what i'm going through... what's the use of even trying to keep up this act? I've gotta go somewhere else... to try and get stronger. She just can't understand that without strength I might as well kill myself right here.
Cat walked over to an alley inside of the 2nd district and made sure that no one else was there. She left a note where Sky could probably find it. It said this...
"Sky, I'm sorry, but i've gotta go on without everyone else. It's just... something that i've gotta do. Heh, it looks like I haven't really changed at all. I'm still the same old crybaby that I was back then. I guess i'll never change. Anyway, tell everyone else that this is for my... no, our own good. You don't have to forgive me for doing this, and I don't expect you to.

She left it and made sure to protect it with a barrier of light. Only his keyblade would be able to open it, and only he would be able to understand what she had to do. She took her Keyblades and threw them into the air. She heard that you could make your Keyblades into ships to travel on but she'd never believed it. This was her only chance to leave and sure enough it worked. The Kingdom Key D had created a protective barrier around the ship. If anything were to attack her she would be safe. She rode out into the far reaches of space and decided to do the thing she'd thought of doing since she was reunited with Sky. She was going to look for her homeworld.

 

"Not me, thanks," Luna answered as she backed away. She was planning on going home, mostly to think by herself. By the time she reached a block close to her home, she saw Cat board this odd looking ship. Did she just come from my place? Luna ran into her house and found the note. Don't panic! What do I do? Go after her of course--no, I need to give this to Crimson. Her Keyblade seemed to be callin her, so she summoned it. What appeared in front of her only looked like her Keyblade, but in a skateboard form. She'd learned how to ride it as a kid, so it wasn't something new. "Cool, you really do have some cool features, huh?"

"So how about it Shinji." Crimson taunted as he was finally able to summon Oblivion. Crimson was a little bit surprised, but a Keyblade was a Keyblade. Before he could attack he heard the sound of loud gravel moving. At first, he thought it was another Heartless. It turned out to only be Luna on an Oathkeeper skateboard. She was holding a paper and looked troubled.

"Crimson," Luna said as she stopped and her Keyblade dissappeared. She showed him the letter and explained what she saw about Cat leaving.

Crimson's heart sank. "Dumbass," He muttered. "We need to find Askuka, then we'll find Cat. I have a pretty good guess on where she's going."

 

OOC: That's not the godmodding part you edited but nevermind. It's simpler to carry on instead.

BIC: Leon stood back up, "It'd be out of my style to go with you", he replied turning away the hi-potion she offered him. He corrected his clothing and wiped off the dust. In the rushed attack Leon managed to protect himself from the blow with a quick parry, but he still went down from the angle of impact. "Don't rely on honour when fighting monsters, you might loose", he stated just before he continued to leave again. "I'll see you in another world, if the junk my old man sprouted was true, then we're all connected anyway. Might as well make travelling easier".

OOC: To make things easier on the RP I'll have Leon sort of travel alone for now but to the same worlds as everyone else since I can't post frequently till Saturday again.

 

"Hm...interesting. The little one thinks she can survive on her own...arrogant youth." Kuragari mused from the shadows. Silently, he ran up a path of darkness created as his paws touched the air. He decided to follow the girl, striking her down when she was truly alone.

"I'm no fool Leon. I've fought in enough battles and lost enough friends to know that. But Cat's young. She needs guidance, guidance that I didn't get from either of my parents," she said as he was about to leave. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a tattered photograph. Handing it to him, she said, "I'm going to look for Midgar. If you come across a world that looks like this...go to a bar called Seventh Heaven. Chances are you'll find me there. Return the picture to me in person then."
Asuka walked back towards where the others were before Leon could refuse and saw Cat flying off into the air. Before she disappeared, Asuka roared out, "You've got so much potential Cat, but you're not goddamn Sora! You never will be! Just as I will never be Cloud or Tifa, because I'm my own person and I'm walking my own path. Until you realize that you'll never be the hero you so desperately want to be!"

 

"Askuka," Luna called out as they searched the city.

Crimson was begining to worry. Once Luna was determined about anything, she wasn't going to stop. She may have grown up some, but she still acts like a child. This was slowing him down; he knew that flying solo was stupid, but he needed to catch up to her. "I'm going ahead. I'm going to leave a trail for you guys to follow once you find Asuka." Crimson summoned his Oblivion Key, which suddenly turned his ship. His armor was as red as his hair, smooth around his helmet. "Don't screw this up Luna."

Before she could even protest, Crimson had already set out into space. "Idiots, the both of them. They totally deserve each other." Luna brushed them off before she continued the search for Asuka.

 

Asuka heard her name being called. She recognized it as Luna's voice, but didn't respond vocally. She simply walked in the direction she heard the girl's voice from, and said a simple "I'm here" when she approached her.
"Odd. Feels like the darkness isn't retreating anymore...is Leon's light really that strong?" she thought. Her mind focused on the present again when she noticed that Luna was alone. "...Where are Crimson and Shinji?"

 

"Shinji got left behind somewhere and Crimson decided to go after Cat," She explained. Her Oathkeeper suddenly appeared, again it the skateboard form. Coming from the tip of the Keyblade was a small string of black light. "So this is what he meant by a path."

Crimson knew well that Oblivion and Oathkeeper were linked in a way. This was a trick that he read about, two Keyblades can "link" together so they could find eachother anywhere in the worlds. However, the Keybearer had to will the Keyblade to do it. Crimson could sense that Cat didn't want to be found, not yet anyway. If he was going to link to Cat's Keyblade, he probably could, but she would easily break the chain that he needed to follow. Luna's Keyblade was the easiest decision, because the Keyblades were linked.

 

Shinji had caught up to LUna and Asuka as he did hear the conversation. "Maybe your right Asuka, but I thinkhas a great burden upon her shoulders, that being Sora's legacy." Shinji said thoughtfully and continued. "Don't you think the also fighting alone may be reckless but it gives you a chance to test yourself in how far you've come?" He asked Asuka.

 

Cat could sense Crimson's presence. She knew he was trying to find her but it wasn't time yet. She left a false trail for him to follow. The trail led out to Radiant Garden and she figured he could hold his own there. This was something that she needed to do regardless of how crazy everyone thought it was. They could never understand... this was a burden that only she carried. They didn't know what it felt like to have to live up to everyone's expectations. Sky didn't have to live up to much because everyone remembered Sora more than they remembered Riku. In their eyes Sora was the true hero of the story and Riku was just a weak boy who fell to darkness. She had to deal with this burden herself.
"Sky... you've always had the good life... haven't you."
She continued to search for her home and when she got there she was devastated. All that remained was an empty part of space. She was so frustrated. She didn't know what to do so she just flew off to search for Midgar. She wanted to take her anger out on someone and she figured that the evil creature they had met before was the perfect target.
I'm not weak. I'll show you all that I can live up to these stupid expectations... I'll show you all that I can be just like Sora...
