Time to Rise Again

Asuka sighed. She would do no good laying in bed, and she decided she felt strong enough to move around despite the nightmares that haunted her. Consciously avoiding her grandparents' room, she made her way slowly down the stairs. "I'll have to clean everything up sooner or later..."
She spotted Leon sitting on one of the bar stools. "Hey," she said to him, not sure how to start a conversation.

 

Leon noticed Asuka coming downstairs. "Hey", he responded to her also raising his hand part way as he spoke before bringing it back down to where it was on the bar top. He knew that she wanted to bury her family as soon as possible, they couldn't just leave them their but at the time Asuka was still not in top condition let alone being able to move the bodies.

 

Shinji walked through the bits of rubble within the building, taking notice of somethingred on the wall and looked up. "Shinra HQ? Waas this place really important and if so, why's it abandoned?" He asked himself. "There must be a reason behind this but what?" He started to think before hearing something and he turned around, keyblade at the ready for anything. "Who's there?" He asked in the direction it came as he waited to see if it was a person or it was just rubble that moved.

 

Kuragari swore mentally and winced. Though Asuka's grandparents had fallen, he hadn't escaped without injury. He had returned to the old Shinra building, which he had been living in, when he heard the boy enter. If he hadn't moved fast enough, the young boy would have seen him. "But perhaps...this can work to my advantage."
He stepped out from behind the rubble, the small area around him illuminated by the bright flame on his tail. "So you've found my den, hm? And you're alone, I don't suppose that means the others have abandoned you, does it?" Kuragari said, not fearing Shinji at all. He knew that if forced to fight, even in this weakened state, he could outlast or outrun him.

 

OOC: I fixed it. Remember that Keyblade wielders can get past any lock. ^^

IC: She heard Asuka and Leon talk and tried to think about what to do. She decided to leave no evidence of her entrance. She locked the door again and tried to find an alternate route to the outside. She looked at a broken window and thuoght carefully about the consequences. She decided it was her best chance. She took a running start and jumped down. She landed feet first but her hand hit the ground to support her fall. She was mostly unharmed except for a few shards of glass that were stuck in her palm. She kept going until she entered a marketplace. She saw a doorway that said Midgar-Straight Ahead. She thuoght it would be better to be familiar with the whole world and so she took the train into the city. She heard a noise come from an abandoned building and ran towards it. She summoned her Keyblade as she ran without hesitation.
Whatever it is i'm gonna take care of it. Those people were probably related to Asuka. I can't let her lose anything else. No turning back...

 

OOC: Er... the whole point wasn't so much you breaking and entering but more that at the time my character was downstairs in the bar, Asuka was upstairs which is through a backdoor and up some stairs that wind upwards and that the fur, blood and dead bodies where all upstairs. The only thing you could of been able to see was my character and signs of a fight in the bar.
Also, heroes shouldn't misuse their powers.

 

Shinji looked at the creature that stepped forward a she listened to it's words as he held his keyblade, Way to the Dawn at the ready in case the creauture attacked. "Not found, more like, by accident...and the others have not abandoned me, we're all connected to each other when we first met, even if they are far away, I'll know they'll live on in my heart." Shinji said as he looked at the creature in the eyes.

"I apologize for walking in here but I did not know this was your home, but I do have a question for you, what was this place? I mean, it's a headquarters but why hasn't anyone returned here?" He asked the creature, it must know of the cause about this building's condition as Shinji did hear more footsteps.

 

"I...need your help. Burying my grandparents. It's not too far out of town and I can arrange for the bodies to be moved, but...we'll have to...dig the graves," Asuka said, trying her best to keep her composure. "I know it's asking a lot because we've just met...I also know I can't do this on my own. I might lose control again."

Kuragari chuckled. The boy had no idea who he was. "Truly, boy, do you know that? Perhaps they were only using you as a means to an end, if they really were your friends would they leave you behind, all by yourself in this darkness?"
He let that sink into Shinji's mind before continuing, "This is what remains of the once mighty Shinra Corporation. Many, many years ago it was the tallest and grandest building in Midgar, but after AVALANCHE defeated Shinra, it fell into disrepair. Since then, the numerous wars fought in this land ravaged it further, to the point where it is said ghosts of the damned soldiers slain in combat haunt this place. I, however, feel right at home here." He finished speaking with a fanged grin.

 

"No problem. I've buried enough people in my short time", Leon stated calmly but without attitude, but that soon changed, "For now, you need to recover from flipping your lid. I'll clean up the mess here and prepare the bodies to be moved", he said with a mockingly commanding tone, as if he was trying to lighten the mood and keep Asuka away from any emotional labour. Granddad did always say never to let people cry, he thought to himself as he began to fix the knocked over chairs and sweep the broken glass into a corner where it could be removed easier with the broom from behind the bar.

 

"That depends on what you mean by friends or could you be refering this scencrio to what happened to yourself in the past?" Shinji asked the creature and listened to it, explaining what had happened within this building.

"No wonder this place looks like it seen so much, but...my gut tells me this creature's dangerous and that I shouldn't stay any longer than I should." Shinji thought to himself

 

"That makes two of us..." she said quietly. "I'll go call the city council. They'll send what we need to bury them and transport."
Asuka felt herself starting to choke on her words again and quickly went upstairs to her room to the phone. After she got off the phone, she went back downstairs and said to Leon, "They'll be here in about half an hour. Thanks for helping clean up, by the way..."
Asuka went behind the bar to get the broom and dustpan and helped Leon clean up the rest of the glass.

"I have never had the problem of calling someone a friend, my boy. I have lived my whole life a loner," Kuragari replied, his red eyes glowing in the darkness. "You'd better be on your way, it's getting dark and that is when the ghosts most love to come out and...play."

 

Cat ran inside and she had heard Kuragari's rude comment about all of them abandoning Shinji.
"Now why do you think i'd do anything like that? It's so rude to assume such things you know..."
She smiled almost mockingly and summoned her other Keyblade as she prepared for a fight. If the situation arose she was more than ready with an escape plan. Darkness disappears, even in the smallest speck of light.

 

Shinji listened to the creature before hearing someone familar, it was Cat as he looked at her then he walked towards Cat as he readied his keyblade for any attack. "I think we should leave since he's offering the gesture Cat." Shinji whispered to her.

 

"...fine. I had an escape plan ready though, should the need arise." She whispered back.
She backed out slowly but she was still facing him just to be sure that he couldn't sneak attack her.

 

Leon helped Asuka clean her home up and prepared for the city council to take the bodies for burial. As he was cleaning a piece of damaged metal on a chain around his neck slipped out from his jacket and dangled freely as he swept the floor with the broom in his hand.

OOC: Is it cool if I make two more characters? One a villain who doesn't use Keyblades and the other a character for future use (I won't post this OC till I need it though).

 

OOC: If it's absolutely necessary for the villain to not use Keyblades be my guest but if you can incorporate it then please do so. Otherwise it's okay. Also I think i'll make an evil character of my own. After all... being bad is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn-shot-

Other Information: She had seen Cat in Traverse Town. When she saw that she could wield two keys jealousy took over her heart. It was then that she learned how to summon the Soul Eater. She relies on darkness for anything and everything she does. She's been able to summon Void Gear when her entire body is consumed by darkness. She's never confronted Cat directly before but though she can summon keyblades herself the effects of the darkness have never worn off...

"Hmm... I think it's time for me to step in."
Lana opened a portal of darkness and summoned Soul Eater.
"Kuragari! Why would you let the enemy go so easily?"
The portal of darkness appeared and she came out with her keyblade in hand. She smiled and stared at Cat.
Cat gave her an angry look and stood her ground ready for a fight.
"Oh... so you think you can intimidate me huh? Please... just because you can summon the most famous keys of all doesn't mean you're the best wielder of all time."
Lana kept her cool as she said this but everyone could see the darkness around her. She raised her other arm and the Void Gear appeared.
"I guess we're gonna have to do this the hard way then... fine. If you wanna mess with me then you're gonna have to pay the price."
"Hmph... i'll shut you up soon enough you little brat. Kuragari! Leave the girl to me and get rid of the other one. There's no use in having more bloodshed than necessary."

 

OOC: Can you not use black for Lana's font colour? I've been using it for Kuragari's, I don't want there to be any confusion. D:

Kuragari turned his head to the newcomer. "And who might you be?" he said in a rather bored tone. "I don't recall ever seeing you before, let alone give you permission to talk to me like some sort of dog. There is much more to this war than friend and foe, enemy and ally. That is why I fight alone. You are too young to understand, fool," he snarled, and sat down, staring the girl down, rage burning deep in his eyes.

Asuka and Leon finished cleaning up the damage downstairs. "They should be here soon," she said to him. "We should probably...head upstairs..."

Other Information: Was once a Keyblade Master but for reasons that have been erased from history he is no longer one and does not possess a physical body, but instead survives by possessing a suit of armour. His true form is nothing but a damaged heart and a mass of darkness. He also cannot talk as he has no body, thus no lungs or tongue.

BIC: Leon nodded in agreement with Asuka and started to head upstairs. He looked around as he walked towards the room where her family members lay making sure they had cleaned up everything, which they had.

 

OOC: Sure, no problem.

"Fool, you can't possibly beat that girl on your own. Also, who I am doesn't concern you. All that matters is that we extinguish the light for good..."
She pointed to Cat as she said this with an evil look in her eye. She thought nothing of Kuragari and she didn't want to waste precious time arguing over such trivial things.

 

"I said nothing of fighting anyone now. I am injured. I came back here to rest, only to have you bunch disturb me. I suggest you all take your petty battles outside before the darkness that lurks in this building assists me in removing you," Kuragari said. His voice was quiet, but promised that his threat was not without truth.

Asuka noticed the metal hanging from Leon's neck once they reached the top of the stairs. She didn't want to say anything, but she couldn't bring herself to look away from the ornament. She remained silent, deciding instead to move across her grandparents' room and place the bedsheets over the two of them. Asuka felt a final sense of their death then. "I really am...all alone now. My entire family is gone... She closed her eyes and said a silent prayer to whoever was listening in the Lifestream.
