ok.. so I have recently discovered the godlike creative genius that is Tim Burton.
His films are amaaaaazing :'D

so what is your favourite of his movies?

Mine are Sweeney Todd and Edward Scissorhands though I love them all :3

 

Ahhhh Tim Burton = Love and inspiration for years. <3

And The Nightmare Before Christmas stands as my all time favourite. It's been for ages :3

Alice In Wonderland is going to be amazing!

tim burton is a hack.

here's a tip: he didn't even write or direct Nightmare Before Christmas.

 

Lol, it isn't called Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas without reason. It's true that it was directed by Henry Selick, but Tim Burton co-wrote and produced it. The entire movie is made out from a poem Tim wrote. So it's his idea, put into life with help. It wouldn't be the movie it is without good help, but he still invented it.

 

not to mention ANIMATED it or at least helped im not sure, but i honestly like Pee Wees Big Adventure and Ed Wood from his collection

 

Sweeney Todd. I can't get enough of it. I've been Mrs. Lovett for Halloween two years in a row. 8D

 

Sweeney Todd does it for me. I love how he can make musicals laughably gruesome. Now thats talent! :sigh:

Oh god, I don't know why, but even though I knew what Sweeney Todd was about, the fact that it was a musical made it seem lighthearted and possibly comical to me.
Then I actually watched it.
It was NOT lighthearted and comical at all!
Great movie though.

I love Tim Burton. A part of me would prefer Burton as director for Deathly Hallows. Anyway, my favourite movies are Nightmare before Christmas and Big fish though Edward Scissorhands The Sweeney Todd and The corpse Bride are pretty close.

 

This is my favorites of Tim Burton:

1st place: Sweeney Todd
2nd place: Nightmare Before Christmas
3rd place: Corpse Bride

and I can't wait for Alice In Wonderland ^^

 

I love Big Fish. One of his greatest works. I always admired Tim Burton for his original style.

 

I'm a fan. I discovered him through Edward Scissorhands and I still think of that one as a classic, but I like most of his other work too. He makes quality stuff.

 

He would cast every character as Johnny Depp!

Seriously, my main beef with Tim Burton is that it doesn't seem that he can get over his butt buddies relationship with Johnny Depp. I mean, I really don't like Depp, and the fact that 80% of the time you can't see a Tim Burton movie without having to deal with Johnny Depp's dreadful over-acting is just annoying.

I'm horrified by the thought of the new Alice in Wonderland movie, too. I am a HUGE Alice fan, and he is simply desecrating a classic story.

 

At the risk of being destroyed and devoured by angry fans, I have actually gone off Burton in recent years.

I adore Edward Scissorhands, and Sleepy Hollow is one of my favourite films, but I am seriously tired of the whole cliche you know?

What was originality has become something of a joke that has been running for far too long. There are thousands of people all drooling away to his films, and I can understand why, but seriously, it would be nice if all his work wasn't so predictable and cliched as it has become.

As for him always using Depp, I actually don't mind that, Depp is one of my favourite actors, the two made a name off of working with each other really. Though I admit I'm not so keen on the HEY LETS PUT HELENA BONHAM CARTER IN EVERYTHING FROM NOW ON, because I got to say, she is not my favourite actress ¬¬

So anyways, I'm rambling, long essay short, I like his work but he is majorly over-rated.

 

True that. I don't mind Depp that much though. As much as i like Helena Bonam Carter it gets on my nerves that he is having her in all of his films. And she kinda plays the same role every time...

RUMOR IS THAT TIM BURTON WILL BE DOING ANOTHER DISNEY REMAKE. IT IS MALEFICENT'S VERSION OF SLEEPING BEAUTY. IT WILL BE A LIVE ACTION MOVIE.

 

Tim Burton is wonderful in some of his movies, but he does fall short in some. I, for one love Edward Scissorhands because that was the first movie my sister told me of his (she likes only that movie from him xD)

Helen IS not that bad...I liked her in Sweetney Todd and the Harry Potter movies, but I do agree he does hire her and Johnny Depp a lot -_-
