Given the recent hack and the threat of the hacker returning, it seems logical to want to back up threads that are particularly important to you. As such, I asked Misty to install the plugin 'Download Forum Thread To Your Computer'. The page for the plugin is here. The option is under 'Thread Tools' next to 'Search Thread'. Just click 'Download This Thread', select a place on your hard drive, and the thread will be downloaded. While it doesn't do signatures, avatars, bbcode or, most disappointingly, quotes, it is significantly more convenient than right clicking and selecting 'Save As', especially when there are 4,000 replies. (There may be options the admins can fiddle with.) It's downloaded in plaintext format, so it's fairly small. The entirety of the Death Note thread was only 4.8MB. (Even then, that was mostly because half of it was Tikem's wall of text spamage.) I expect this will be particularly useful for those long-running RPs, as well as those Forum Family threads we all cherish.

I'd like to add though that threads can NOT be restored from this in the event of losing them, but they can at the very least be documented. Better than nothing though, thank you P for finding it. =] I was a bit wary of announcing it because I was afraid that if every was downloading files like that it might slow things down, but since they're such small files it should be fine.
What possible motive could anyone have for hacking into the hell hole that is kh-vids.net? HAH! im kidding :3
Are there any tweaks or options you can alter, to make it work better and capture quotes and the like too?
