    • I like Dirge of Cerberus a lot. Like, a lot.
    • Why is it that everyone in Japanese fiction are all smokin' hot with amazing kung fu action skills? The only people who aren't are the people who only exist to be that ugly person, that's their gimmick, WHICH DOESN'T COUNT. Actually, I think that's my biggest problem with Japanese fiction. Every. single. character. is an archetype. I have yet to see one that's not. And even if they do exist I honestly don't care because they will still have those typical/traditional anime mannerisms which I'm tired of. Of course this is all coming from their cartoons, comics, and games. I don't know about books and films.
    • I also like The 3rd Birthday.
    • I'm really diggin' this James Bonds-y type music in this one stage of Dirge of Cerberus. I don't remember if the rest of the game has this type of music. I hope it does.
    • I dislike Shalua for a myriad of reasons, many of which involve the design

    It was pretty good.

Story is hard to follow and I just hate how weak they make the main character ("LET ME GROAN IN PAIN EVERY TIME USE MY SUPER POWER GRR"), but, overall, it's a good game.

Not all Japanese fiction is like that, fortunately. I've read a few short stories and such and they were really good -- one author had a series of very short works which all focused on just in the moment type things, and another story was sort of a subversion of biblical creation myth. I still have some scattered around and could give you some titles if you want to dig in.

I can't speak for films that much, though.

( there was an excuse to talk writing so I took it )
