Well, maybe not, but the fact remains that the fastest growing economy in the world is coming to get you. If you don't believe me, then consider this, In 2005 China's projected growth in economy was over 10 percent as it had been the past few years, the U.S.'s was hovering at around 4 percent optimistically. China will soon have the fourth largest economy in the world outdoing Japan and fifty years ago it was one of the poorest nations around. I'm sure you all know that Wal-Mart the vast evil empire is mostly buying imports from China. I'm also sure you know that no where, not even in India or Mexico can people undercut China's manufacturing prices. Meaning most of our planets textiles and knick-knacks are from the Middle Kingdom. But how does economic growth and clout equate to political power? Well, for one thing pretty much every business in the world is on one level or another dependent on a foreign factory or business and a majority of those are based in China whether they're foreign owned or not. Why are they dependent? Pricing, consumers look for the lowest price possible for the highest quality possible, this golden ratio is most easily reached in a hungry economy like China's. For example the workers there are grateful for salaries of less an 100 U.S. dollars a month and leave the countryside in droves to get jobs that pay that much. So you get workers striving to make money that are willing to work very hard for that pay off and you get China. So we know all the worlds economy is dependent in part upon a country that doesn't believe in basic human rights, labor laws, or environmental protection. Don't worry the list goes on, and there really isn't a huge amount that any nations are willing to do about it. As China's influence spreads like the smog over their cities the world comes closer to a new world order. Well, maybe not.
Not to mention, the US's debt was bought by China. So essentially we are owned by China, and they can come over here any time they want and overrule us. And the government won't have to do anything because it's not even connected to the public anymore. =/
The Chinese are smart and resourceful enough to tak eover the world, I believe. THe amount of people dedicated to their country, willing to die for it and their history shows them to be quick witted and excellent at warfare, it makes them a formidable opponent for anyone country. Asain countries pretty much made everything in my house, from my pen too my TV, they practically own me now. But it is true that teaching chinese languages is defiantly going to be on the increase in years too come. Though I don't see that as much of a problem as China is one of the most fascianating places in the world, it's excellent for, it's culture, history, different climate regions and mass production facilities.
well, yea, it's been a known fact that China is growing rapidly, of course there are going to be more people speaking Chinese
China's growing rapidly, yes, but I think it'd be a good thing. In more recent years, China has moved from Communism to more of a capitalistic way of life. This leads to more freedom, but I don't think China will decide to take over the world.
I'm not saying you're wrong DPWolf but advancements aside, China still is very politically backwards, Tianenmen Square wasn't exactly an abnormality and the Tibetan brutality isn't either. Also, China has one of the worlds highest AIDS rates thanks to their policy on prostitution and all things entailed. SO, the country is more economically free but the people still have rough government instated policies to deal with.
All's aside, they're not making very friendly appeals towards the labor. So generally, their society and political issues are pretty corrupt. But in terms of economy, it's very scary how fast they'd grow. Didn't they recently beat another country in economic size? (Was it Germany or Japan) I dunno, I could be wrong. << But yea, we mite all have to/should speak sooner or later.
Ampex, talk about the topic not about your government. Well, I can see why we'll be speaking Chinese. The population is growing, and so is China's power in economic growth. If it gets this far, you're right. We might have to speak their language.
Could you please stop posting after me with whatever I say and nagging me about it? Xaale, it get's very annoying, and you do it at home too. But a key factor in China's economy is that it can make goods cheaper with seemingly few health regulations and can be sold in other places at an insanely high price. I did some nosing around my house, and I found out which household items were made in China. -batteries -cell phone -phone charger -apple juice (imported from china) -keyboard Im typing on to name a few.....
