ok...so on wednesday i have conformation classes in my chruch basement(im catholic btw) and our lesson was on Matramony...here are a list of things that were talked about...
    teachers:
    1) gay marrage is wrong because man and man cant lie together...even if they dont ge married but have a civial union its STILL wrong...cause they call it marrage

    Teens:RIOT! (mostly me acutally)

    2) you are only suppose to get married for the SOUL PURPOSE of MAKING CHILDERN, if u dont want kids...you cant get married

    Teens: RIOT!

    3) controseptives are WRONG, hands down...no if ands or butts....even if (for women) they help u with women things...and even if ur not sexualy active

    Teens: RIOT!

    4) a man and women MUST NEVER live together before marrage...because it will TEMPT them to DO things and/or it will create SCANDAL for other people
(even if the man or women doesnt like the opposite sex)

    Teens: RIOT!

    5) the catholic chruch is always picked on about having problems

    Teens: RIOT!

    oh i love being catholic!

    NOT!!

I feel your pain, man. Even though I've never been through something so extreme (I live in a liberal state), being Catholic, I know how it feels to have this kin of idiocy forced on you like this. Just ignore it, for the most part. Only pay attention to the stuff you agree with, that's my motto.

Well...the church is "right" about the bible. Although I really doubt God(at least New Testament God because he's not a jerk) would damn you for any of those things.

Hmm... see, this is why the Catholicism (sp?) p*sses me off.
    No offense. >_>

Ill go through the different points seperatly.

    1) Yeah, the church don't believe in homosexual relationships. Personally I think this is ridiculous D: You can't help who you fall in love with, right? But no, God designed a man and a woman to be together, nothing else can be tolerated, of course. >_>

    2) What if you can't have children? I want to know what they would say to that D:<
I suppose they are teaching this to discourage people from getting married in haste, specially with the divorce rate as it is.

    3) I thought they had changed the contraceptive rules? D:
    Maybe I heard wrong @-@
    Tch, thats cruel.
And what if your partner has an STD? O.O
But of course, someone that holy can't be infected with something sinful @-@

    4) hahaha Ive never heard this one before. What if you're into incest, eh? xD Better not live with those naughty brothers and sisters :V
But seriously, this rule is ridiculous. Even if you're not intrested in each other? Pfft.

    5) I wonder why..... lol.

    Erm.. you can?
You don't have to be Catholic O.O

Religion stops free will to an extent thats why alot of people are now becoming atheists. Those things you mentioned drove alot of them away, to be honest I was driven away from religion not by those things you said but the fact that my head master of my primary school only mentioned death in his stories. XD

I say that is ridiculous.I say,do what ya want.If your gay,go ahead,be gay,get married,I don't care.I also say that, people should have the right to do as they please on this subject. But,that was their judgement.

    lol same.

Also, making us sing christian hymns in primary school was always highly unfair on the non-religious and those who followed other religions. @-@

Yeah, I agree. In the end most of us just gave up what we were forced to believe in. We weren't even given a choice, I myself was raised to believe in god by the pushy Christians who live in my area and the only Muslims in the place left but still bring their kid to the school.

If you disagree with their beliefs then why continue to be a Catholic?

I guess sometimes there are pressures from family members and others.

But yeah. It should be free choice.

Aye. I'm from a religious family n' when i was younger i didn't really have much of a choice 'bout church. Once i reached 'bout 16 i could've done what i liked but i enjoyed church so i kept goin' n' continue to go. I'm quite content livin' by the beliefs n' standards my church has.

I have a rough idea of how i could've turned out if i didn't have any religious beliefs n' i'm glad i stuck with it. I'm not sayin' everyone that doesn't have a religious belief is bad, far from it, heck folk with religious views can be horrible, but with the friends i had n' how they turned out in life i'm glad i had somethin'.

If i didn't truely enjoy church or believe in it in the slightest i wouldn't go. It would be a waste of time.

Wow, those are all pretty silly, except for maybe the living together before marriage. That's never a good idea (but not necessarily for the reasons given). But, everything else is ridiculous. I don't support gay marriage, but if that's what a gay couple wants to do, then let them. It doesn't really bother me, since it has no impact on my life. And you don't get married just because you want children, you get married because you love that person. I don't really see how contraceptives are wrong in any case, even if you are sexually active. If anything, they're a good idea to use if you do decide to have premarital sex.
And as far as I can tell, the Catholic Church isn't picked on any more than most churches (for that matter, Christianity is not picked on any more than most beliefs).
