rikuandlawliet (12:55:23 PM): He wrote his own name in the death note so he could die in 26 days. Since his name was already in a death note, his death couldn't be altered anymore, so when Light tried to kill him, he faked his death. Then he came back, figuring out Light was truly Kira.
