This is URGENT i really need help

my friend told me to download this software that was apparently fun... yeah it was full of viruses... i only just got this laptop for christmas and i dont want to tell my dad its infected already. What kind of heartless **** would do that to a friend. I need to find a free way to get rid of it... can someone please help me

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
That is what I use when my computer gets infected with viruses. It works for me, I hope it will work for you.

 

is malware just on infection or does it protect against everyone

 

I use Spybot Search and Destroy. It takes a while to use, since it searches every single file, but it finds viruses and deletes them.

 

I do not really know much about it, my mom installed it for me when I got like a million viruses and it got rid of them. Whenever I get a virus these days (normally only when I use a certain download site, may I ask, where did you download whatever you were downloading from?) that will get rid of it when I run a scan. It offers a full scan and a quick scan.

Shareware are trial versions of programs you must most likely pay for later, after the trial expirers. Freeware are free programs you can use without paying. I hope you get this sorted out Catfish, best of luck.

 

It's Antivirus 2009, isn't it? You have to get it cleaned out. They take up your memory till nothing is left and if you give them your credit card number they take it and use it until you wake up the next morning with 0 as a balance.​
