My younger self was absolutely terrified not with a factor of actual gaming itself, but the glitches or unintentional mishaps associated with gaming. The horrific noises and distorted graphics occasionally emitted from the 8- or 16-bit messes would add to the horror factor. Pokemon especially was a rather frightening one when I learned of a handful of glitches for some reason - they were always quite unsettling.

As for my current self, I always do dread those Redeads, quite especially the ones in Twilight Princess with their ear-piercing screams.

Any Silent Hill game. I played the PS2 one once with a few friends in the dark on Halloween, haven't played in since. Just gives me the creeps. Mostly just walking around in the game when I hear screaming or noises in the background. Same thing for the F.E.A.R. series.

This is nothing really, but the Wallmasters in OoT.
Or the Shadow Temple. That was EXTREMELY creepy, with the music, and stuff.

    Pokemon. Yeah.

Using Gameshark on Pokemon Gold was terrifying. I ended up trying the walk through walls code and destroyed the game.

Haha, what do you mean this is nothing? I used to stop playing the game because of the Wallmasters, stupid things... And the Shadow Temple, don't even get me started - I was so afraid I was gonna have nightmares about that crap.

Another thing that scared me from the Zeldaverse was the ReDeads and the Gibdos. Their screams were enough to make me cry when I was little. And the face on that moon? The moon itself? Yeah...that too.

The blood trail music from FFVII. It gave me shivers whenever I heard it. The lurker shark in the first Jak game, Fear 2, and Reapers in Resident Evil 5. Seriously, when you didn't have good weapons, I had to run like all the way across the map and had to snipe the Reaper dead.

In the FFVII series, Hojo always freaked me out. Then in Dirge of Cerberus, when he laughs after shooting Vincent, I lost it!

Call of Duty WaW or BO, when your in a zombie game, and a freaking zombie attack you from behind. I spin shoot screaming, "Holy Sh!% $%#@!"

Prince of Persia Sands of time, first seeing the prince's father as a sand monster, and how he can block all your moves. But I was a lot younger back then.

Finally KH CoM, meeting Larxene!!! God I've never met such a woMAN in my life!!!

I never figured out why, but I had a lot of problems defeating the final boss of Crash Twinsanity on my first playthrough, and when I finally got to the third part of the fight and got close to defeating The Twins, my heart just started pounding.

I'm not sure if that counts as being scared, but it relates. :3

not too many things, but I guess dealing with Miranda in Legend of Dragoon scared me. I mean, who wants to get on her bad side?

And Hojo in Dirge of Cerberus. His laugh creeped me out like crazy

The Wallmasters in Legend of Zelda. You hear the sound of the wind howling and below your feet a ominous shadow steadily grows and then out what seems like nowhere, a zombified hands with clawed fingernails comes down from the celing, grabs you and takes you away. When I was kid, these guys were the things that made the Forest Temple and the Shadow Temple(which is scary on its own) all the more scary to me. They still send a shiver down my spine >>

That piano.... oh god that piano in Super Mario 64. I mean you are in a haunted mansion but still. You walk in a room and you see a piano. Your like "Oh hey, a piano!" You see a red coin next to it and decide to go get it. But just as you are about to even touch the damn coin, WTF THE PIANO IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!! and you run away screaming.

So I just started playing F.E.A.R. recently, (yes, I know, shoot me) and I had just gotten to this one par where you have to go under the ground where pipes and stuff are, and it's like a little tunnel that leads somewhere. Well the little girl appeared as soon as I started moving forward, and she was crawling towards me on all fours and I was like "No way Jose, screw this shit, I'm out. PEACE."

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: The Old Chateau. Just the whole place. Don't go in there at night with the lights off.

Kingdom Hearts II: The freakin' Gargoyle statues that pop out of the walls during your first visit to Beast's castle. I'm very excitable, so even if I know they're coming they still make me jump.

Any game: Segments where you're running from the unstoppable force. Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong Country 2 come to mind. Those parts always freak me out, especially if you die in one hit.
