You have it backwards in two ways.
Pureblood Heartless release hearts because, essentially, that's what they are.
Emblem Heartless are made by artificially reproducing the process of a heart being taken by darkness, without a heart. So they have no heart to release.
Also, if memory serves, there is a difference between what happens when a Heartless is defeated by a Keyblade (or someone with the power of a Keyblade) and what happens when it's defeated by something else, though I can't remember what.

That completely contradicts Days' gameplay. Emblem Heartless release hearts when defeated while Purebloods don't.

Either we're idiots, or Nomura is getting on my nerves with confusion.

Xion was apart of the replica program over seen by Vexen. The way he designed Xion was so that all people would see her as they saw fit.

It's the reason why Siax saw her as a doll.

It's the reason roxas saw here as something similar to kairi

It's the reason Axel always saw her with her hood up

Go to a bunch of different areas in KH2 and defeat heartless (pureblood and emblem). Unless your game is screwed up you should notice that pink hearts fly out of all emblem heartless and nothing comes out of pureblood heartless; purebloods simply melt into blackness.

Also Daxma I'm pretty sure Axel didnt ALWAYS see Xion with her hood up.

    1. The hearts in mission mode are grey, as opposed to red. Meaning they arn't captured in mission mode.

    2. Its a glitch, which happens unintentionally early on in the game. My theory is that the scenes were programmed at a time when they weren't sure if Xion would be unhooded yet. Even the character on screen would have the hood on, but the character on the bottom didn't have it and vice versa. Its a glitch.
