Kingdom Hearts II Their Names

Just proof I have a little too much free time on my hands. But if you take a closer look at some of the characters' names, you'd notice something interesting. Sorry if some of these are old news, but I still found them interesting.

Vexen- When we say something is "vexing", we mean it is annoying. Poor Vexen here ( or maybe not so poor?) has the luxury of being called annoying. Serves ya right, ya crazy perv.

Axel-Nothing too special here, except an axle is the rod that wheels on a car, truck, etc. are attached to. Axel's chakram's look like wheels, so...yeah.

Demyx - This one's fun: remove the X, add an L and an O, mix it up and you get the word Melody. He plays a giant sitar as a weapon, so it fits him.

Luxord - There's proably somehting better than what I'm about to write, but if the D is removed he is left with Luxor, and Luxor is an Egyptian themed casino in Las Vegas. Luxord seems to like gambling, so i guess that's works. There's probably another thing like that, but I can't think of one.

Larxene - Sounds like "larceny" if you try hard enough, which means "theft". Larxene hasn't stolen anything (to my knowledge ?), but eh.

And finally, Yen Sid = Disney backwards. Durr.

There's your cocktail party factoid for the day.

 

XD When I first got into Kingdom Hearts, I kept calling Luxord Luxor cuz I had been to Vegas a few months before.​

 

Cool, I don't feel so dumb now. XD I do the same, and my friends are always telling me "It's LUXORD! Say it right!"

 

I used to pronounce Demyx horribly wrong. My friend soon corrected me. *eyes friend nervously* She can be.... persuasive... ^_^;​

 

Those were pretty interesting, especially the Demyx one. I've never actually thought to look into their names, but I guess there really is some quirky sense behind them. xD

 

Wow I loved those, the Demyx on was really awesome =D

 

I feel so dumb for not noticing those. Especially the Yen Sid one >.<

 

I liked the Demyx - Melody.... Well done!

 

Yen Sid I literally discovered a day ago. I first thought Sidney (which is still close), but then it dawned on me that maybe it was a sort of a "tip-of-the-hat" to Mr. Walt himself. Y'know, like those Hidden Mickey things at the parks and in some of the movies. Then when it dawned on me that it was Disney I felt like someone had poured bleach on my brain.

 

I realized the Yen Sid one as soon as I saw it spelled out in the subtitles of the cutscene.​

 

Whoa.....I didn't know that....But cool......I feel stupid for not noticing Yen Sid:(

 

Actually... she did strip Sora of his star charm that namine "gave" him.

Also, she has a typical fighting style of a thief from the Final Fantasy series...

 

Vexen also sounds like "Vixen". You can guess what that means XD.

 

Whenever i saw an ad for Luxor, i always think of luxord...
and i have gotten smarter! Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!! D:
