Anyway I thought I could play with Rarity at first but then I realized that I'm not comfortable enough with Gem Knights...

Ehh.... Do I really need to mark every joke I make? It appears so.

And the best part about it being untranslated is that only part that is unreadable is how many Madolche monsters in graveyard you can target to return them to deck.

    *facepalm*

Tiaramisu is just two. If Choco A La Mode is her upgrade (or Puddingcess'), then it should be 2 too.

    Approved Cards:
    DHD Harbinger
    DHD Vanguard
    DHD Desecrator
    DHD Destroyer of Hope
    DHD Fortress
DHD Ultimate Assassin - here I'm only sceptical about "becomes" instead of "gains 1000 ATK", but I can let that one slide.
    DHD Summoning Ritual
    DHD Day of Rest

    Cards Not Approved:
DHD Dark Matter - Its effect to inflict doubled damage is to strong and don't matter when compared to drawback. Really you can easily go for game with one attack, with existing cards, especially in random.
DH Pathfinder Dragon - Really, you want to get rid of almost not existing need for tributes. And I'm not okay with this card, due to cards like "Ultimate Offering", "Card Advance" and "Double Summon" (all available in random), with results with multiple normal summons of Level 10 monsters that can search each other. Also rank 10 Xyz Spam.
DHD Denial of Hope - due to it forcefully making summoned monster an attack target (yes I counted new version).
DHD Unending Prophecy - free deck reloads and draws, mostly due to re-adding to hand.
DHD Sacrafice & Recovery - free deck reloads and draws, one with existing cost that doesn't matter, mostly due to re-adding to hand.
DHD Lost Soul Syphon - free LP, later also free draws, mostly due to re-adding to hand.
DHD Universal Magic - free searches of whatever you may need, mostly due to re-adding to hand.
DHD Blitz Tactics - free additional normal summons, mostly due to re-adding to hand.

The damage is only doubled if it battles a monster, so you can't hit directly for 7k. Odd-eyes Pendulum Dragon has the same effect without the drawback, 2.5k ATK instead of 3.5k, and is a pendulum monster. Additionally, if it direct attacks and does 3500 damage, it will banish itself despite not gaining the benefit of its boosted damage. To OHKO someone from 8k LP with just the one attack would mean 4k damage over an opponent's monster before the doubling. So you'd need to have the thing boosted to over 5k (most likely) anyway, and at that level of boosting you might as well just beat your opponent down with a 3.5k Gene-warped Warwolf.

"Almost not existing need for tributes"? The tributes make them almost unusable when tributing anything other than themselves, meaning you have to sacrifice one of them to summon one of them, outside of a few cases. That's a major limitation.

The reason Pathfinder is fine IMO is because it takes a normal summon, or running Special Summon cards that can't summon any of the DHD monsters. If you normal summon it and don't have Blitz Tactics/Double Summon, you can't tribute it and normal summon a DHD in the same turn. Also, it doesn't combo with Card Advance, since that only supports Tribute Summons. Even if you do have Blitz/Double Summon, you use two cards (pathfinder + the extra summon card) to normal summon one strong card, and search one that you can't use that turn. So it's still a net -1.

Ultimate Offering is a problem. I had thought it was banned in random, but if it is not, then Pathfinder should not be approved.

    Magical Arm Shield.

In case you need more.. Denial of Hope stops your opponent from doing anything without killing a monster first, kills one of their monsters (best case), and banishes one monster from your deck. Also, it only works while you're getting direct attacked and about to die.

On the other hand, Magical Arm Shield stops your opponent from doing anything without killing a monster first, kills one of their monsters (worst case. Best it kills two), doesn't banish a monster from your deck, and only works when you have a monster out and your opponent has two monsters out.

So if Magical Arm Shield was limited, I could buy Denial being OP. If Arm Shield were used but not Limited, I could buy Denial being a bit too strong. With the "you're about to die" limitation on Denial, I think it's gimmicky, and nearly situational enough to be worthless, but not quite.

You keep saying Free. I don't think you know what that means. If they all said "During your Draw Phase: You can add this to your hand." then yeah you'd have a point. But the fact of the matter is that you can add only one of them from your grave to your hand per turn, and doing so costs you your draw for the turn.

So if I were to add Unending Prophecy to my hand during my draw phase, then play it and draw one, I'd end up drawing the card that I would have drawn if I hadn't added Prophecy to my hand. In addition, I'd get to shuffle three monsters from my grave to my deck, at the cost of banishing one monster from my grave face-down. (meaning I can't get it back with things like D.D.R. or Burial, or even look at it later, since it's not public knowledge.)

Compare this to Pot of Avarice, which has the same condition to activate it (only generic) and actually nets you a +1 instead of being net zero.

Sacrifice & Recovery is half way between Allure of Darkness only worse, and Burial from a Different Dimension only worse. Not really sure why you have a problem with it.

Lost Soul Syphon is Dian Keto. Do you know how many cards in the game banish things face-down? I'd guess it's on the order of 5-10 real cards, plus four of the customs I made. All three of those customs need require monsters to be dying (or discarded) to be usable. Until you get five banished face-down, it's completely dead. Until you get 10 cards banished face-down, it's literally Dian Keto only worse. Only if you somehow manage to banish 15 cards face-down does it become a better Upstart Goblin.

Universal Magic = free searches? What? When not only do we have Reinforcement of the Army, we also have cards like Satellarknight Deneb, I have no idea why you think a spell that drops one to search one is free. Recycling this card instead of drawing is literally saying "I'm going to discard on card to be allowed to make my draw be an S/T of my choice". So it's a -1 over whatever you get. On top of that, none of my S/T generate straight advantage. Blitz is -1, Soul Syphon is -1 until super late, Magic is -1, Prophecy and Sacrifice are net zero (and don't speed you up at all), and Ritual is -1.

Blitz Tactics = Double Summon. Its cost is that you need to play it.

The self-recycling effect isn't as strong as you seem to think, since the cards themselves are all mediocre. If it were Dark Hole or Pot of Avarice, it would be strong. But the effect is only useful if the card is more useful to you than a card that says "Draw one card". So compare the power of each of the cards I made to a copy of Upstart Goblin that doesn't give your opponent life points. If they're dramatically stronger, the recycle effect is strong. If it's about the same power, the recycle effect is mediocre. If it's weaker, then the recycle effect does nothing for it.

I will let this card speak.

I play tested this deck, and with little combo of this and any card that can increase ATK of this card slightly it always ended in OHKO. In my case Mage Power or Axe of Despair. Yeah I know it was OTK heavy variant in this case, but it worked perfectly in both random and non-random.

Malefics are perfect archetype to use in combination with this archetype. They provide both deck size reduction, tributes and save your precious Normal Summons. But for random you just need get Pathfinder to grave and Monster Reborn it. Then you can proceed to chain additional card to met requirement of chain summoning, getting huge field advantage and allowing to go for rank 10 Xyz. This card would be fine if it didn't worked on multiple normal summons, but for one instead. Did I mention that under conditions that are very easy to met it can also attack directly? Yeah if I didn't, that was final nail to its coffin.

Its condition is easier to met than you think. In game we have so many effects that force us to pay life points and we gain from it, that your life can deplete very easily. And if your archetype didn't consisted from high ATK monsters I would consider this card as fair. However this card can also bring out cards like Dark Matter (which I don't approve now, but when I tested it was still option and it was used to finish of close duels) and Destroyer of Hope (that did get trough just because when it gains ATK, your opponent takes no further damage during turn you trigger its ATK gain effect). However with Magical Arm Shield you must manage to have that one monster on your side of the field, and your opponent must have at least two monsters. I still think that in case of this archetype its too strong to let it trough.

Cards that self recycle them self and have possibility of drawing card will never get my approval. That kind of **** will get trough only in anime/manga and if Konami decide to **** up this game even more. You can say whatever you want, but only ones you can argue with me about are ones that don't let you draw. Rest of them gets my definite no.

Universal Magic > discarding one card is such little cost that I consider it free. 1st it can search any of your broken self recycling spells. 2nd it can self recycle itself. 3rd it also can set-up your grave. Something you need to use those overpowered spells of yours. Still gets my no.

Blitz Tactics > Double summon it deck that can use one monster as tribute of level 10 that can search another card is strong in my book. And you can add it to your hand when you need it. Yeah, totally another weak card. Still gets my no.

Set up scales > SS Pendulum Dragon > shackles + mage power gives you a pendulum dragon with 4500 power, striking into a 100 attack monster is 8800 damage. That's already an OTK. Getting out dark matter is actually more expensive, I think. Not too sure, since I've never played either deck for real.

And requires a field spell. If you're running a field spell And DHD monsters And Red-eyes/Blue-eyes And Soul Syphon/Prophecy/Sacrifice, you're going to get so many dead hands. And if you're not running Red/blue-eyes, Stardust is (I believe) the only Malefic you can use, since Cyber End is a machine.

It's not too hard to use it.. But it's also easy to get around. If you can land the final hit with a monster that prevents your opponent from activating traps, GG. If you hit it with MST at any time before you launch the final attack, that's that. Magic Arm Shield can be used any time your opponent has multiple monsters and you have one. If you could keep the monster summoned by Denial of Hope, I'd say OP, yeah.. But you don't. We've got Mirror Force and Magic Cylinder.. Is this card really stronger than those?

Have you ever played Koa'ki Meiru? Adding their spell from the grave to my hand is the Last thing that I want to do, despite the fact that I need it for all of my S/T to work. You know why? Because not drawing cards means that I will stop getting new cards, and I wont get any more options than I already have. Unless it directly gives me a large benefit I wont do it, simply because I'm afraid that it will strangle me to death. Every turn I recycle the thing is a turn that I'm not breathing.

Blitz and Universal don't let you breathe, and don't have super strong effects, but have good effects.

Prophecy, and Sacrifice do let you breathe, but don't do much of anything else.

Soul is dead a lot early, and until 15 doesn't do much Or let you breathe. Post 15 it's reasonably good and lets you breathe, but stops you from recycling another card like Blitz.

You're making it sound like Prophecy, Sacrifice, and Soul give you tons of advantage.. But in the best case they're all net 0. And Prophecy and Sacrifice have effects that stop them from being used forever.

.. Are you joking? Seriously. Discarding one card is most of the difference between Lightning Vortex and Raigeki. And for a very long time Raigeki was banned while Lightning Vortex was unlimited and rarely saw use. And you call my spells OP.. They are all, every single one of them (except Universal Magic itself, and Soul Syphon in a stupidly long game), just worse version of pre-existing cards, if you ignore the self recycle effect.

What you're doing here is much worse than what I did with Fiend Synchronizer and Skull Beast. Fiend Synchronizer is an effect that I was afraid of because I didn't know its implications. When I thought about it more, I realized that it didn't really add much. Skull Beast actually is very strong. It just isn't nearly as strong as the other stuff that exists now.

The recycling effect isn't even strong, especially when compared to the cards that exist today. And yet you're acting like it is a mechanic that is so strong in and of itself that it is completely impermissible for it to exist in such a way that it doesn't necessarily drain your resources.

But to summon it with one monster of tribute, you need to tribute a level 7+. Look at the mega monarchs. They have some pretty silly strong effects (just look at mega Caius), and they get a card to let them tribute an opponent's monster for their summon.[DOUBLEPOST=1422720064][/DOUBLEPOST]
I just double checked. Ultimate offering is banned. Monster Reborn is banned. Should I really need to make my cards balanced when they're combo'd with banned cards? And yeah, you can special summon Pathfinder with Call of the Haunted.. But you can't summon anything other than pathfinder with Call of the Haunted. If you're going to run Call of the Haunted just to hope that you'll end up with a pathfinder in grave so you can make one play.. I say that's fair. High risk, high reward.

If it only worked for one summon, it would either need to be boosted to something like 1800 atk, or given a special summon condition to be worth using. I don't think you'd be okay with either of those. As it is, the chances of you getting out multiple dragons in one turn with it are very low unless you're running something like CotH that will be dead whenever you can't make that play.

Originally it wasn't going to have a condition on that, since that's the main thing that makes it usable. The condition is mainly there to make it not splashable. I will admit though, I should probably drop its ATK by 200.

Fred's argument stands most reasonable. Sure, you can infinite search your spells which can also be self-recycled, but that's at the cost of your draw phase. You may say the dragons can search themselves, but they each require a -1 or more to summon, making them weaker version of koaki meiru. I hereby declare all arguments from Yakumo overruled. *slams ban-hammer*

I reworked Sacrifice & Recovery and Dark Matter, as well as (very slightly) nerfing Pathfinder.

Target 1 of your banished "DHD" monsters; Banish that card face-down, and if you do, draw one card. During your Draw Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, instead of conducting your normal draw: you can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand.

This card cannot be Special Summoned, except by the effects of "DHD" cards. This card can be Tribute Summoned by tributing one level 7 or higher Dragon-Type monster. When this card is Normal Summoned; You can add one "DHD" monster from your deck to your hand. When this card destroys a monster by battle: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster on the field. If this effect inflicts 2500 or more damage, banish this card face-down.

If you have a "DHD" monster in your graveyard, this card can attack your opponent directly. You can tribute this card; Twice during this turn, "DHD" monsters can be Normal Summoned without Tributing.

The other cards I'm considering approved by Brook's post, and have no intention of changing.

I don't understand why anybody even still plays this game. You can't even get out a good monster anymore without it getting Raigekied, Dark Holed, or Mirror Forced etc...What fun is that?

There are two solutions to that. The first is to use cards to protect your monsters, just throw down some counter traps, or hold onto a Forbidden Lance. The second is to simply bring out new good monsters every time your old ones get beaten down. In decks back when you played, the latter simply wasn't practical.. but now it is.
