This probably goes for pretty much all card games.. it's not going to just be luck. For yugioh, it's clear. It's more Skill vs. Luck.. can the opponent use their resources more effectively than you do? does he know all the moves he can do with his hand? can he identify what a good hand looks like? what about predicting moves? all these factor in to the end result. you can't really say that it's just luck. a complete novice would probably be unable to know all his options from a given hand or even tell if it's good or not in some cases. don't forget about missplays either. sure, people who are more skilled make less missplays, but they still happen. we make mistakes, even for a pro. With that being said, you can't really say it's all luck now, can you? Plus, don't forget that it also has a lot to do about your deck building skills. The concept of your deck may be weak. Say for example you built a horakhty deck. Sure, you can insta-win if you summon all three gods and tribute them all to summon horakhty for game, but can you build it so that you can summon them all in one turn? And if not, can you protect your god cards from destruction until you can get out horakhty? You may be able to do that affectively, but even then opponent can easily stop you from completing your move perfectly because the concept of your deck revolves around only one or two win conditions and basically have no plan B/a way to get around or recover from certain situations.

Double edit: Plus, exodia decks are stupid anyway and so if you're playing an exodia deck as your main.. you get the point.

 

It'll have to be next week, if you still want to. My parents have started to act ridiculous in regards of my liking of yugioh and they don't allow me to play on DN. So I play on weekdays when they aren't in the house. Edit: Gods aren't an issue, and from what I'm seeing of Pendulums.. they aren't going to be much of an issue as well. I think everyone's just getting something similar to the synchro rage back when they first got released.

 

Yeah... I actually risked being grounded when I quickly logged on to give Jaden my decks' recipes.

Still, I prefer when swarming required a bit more of skill. It's actually very satisfactory to pull off swarming with skill! I should know, since I play Harpies/Blackwings/(very-soon-will)Mist Valleys.

Oh, and gods' issue... You know, I would, no should have winned a duel against a Elemental Hero user if it wasn't for the fact that he managed to mesh gods with it.[DOUBLEPOST=1403224903][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry, the correct conjugation is "won". English is not my first language, so what I write may sound a little broken at times.

 

what I'm seeing now is.. pendulums getting restrictions on their pendulum effects. you can't swarm the field without set-up, and that is the skill involved with using archetypes using the pendulum summoning mechanic.

Edit: Plus you have to time your pendulum summoning since you only get one use of that a turn.. and some archetypes restrict to only being able to special summon monsters from that archetype in their pendulum effect when they act as scales for the pendulum summoning. If you were to throw skill into it, you wouldn't just go pendulum summon at the beginning of each turn like it was nothing.

 

Well, to be honest with you, even if I decided to use pendulums (god forbid)... I would still need time to learn how to use them correctly. It would be Xyz rage I had when I learned about their existence all over again.

 

And I'll tell you who's an example of not needing skill to win this game. And that's ME. I was talking about the real game on DN. As for the arena well...

Maybe it couldn't be read because of the thin, light yellow and tiny letter, but I was requesting a duel to pass time till my duel with WhiteRose-Aki.

I will use my fairy deck. I think I will have to make a few changes to it, though, since my deck was made with the random format in mind. At the very least I will have to add Double Summon, Graceful Charity and Kristya.(On DN, everyone, friends and strangers alike, would tell me to add that, but it simply doesn't work on random format.

Also, Jaden, or someone else who knows: How do I Xyz summon Cxyz Dark Fairy Cheer Girl with Fairy Cheer Girl as a Xyz material? Thanks in advance to the one who answers))

Everypony has their own flaw. Twilight Sparkle is obssessive. Fluttershy is too shy and a bit doormat. Pinkie Pie forgets to mention important things and at times it seems like her cheeriness doesn't let her see when she's annoying someone. Rarity is obssessive too, and a bit too dramatic. Applejack is stubborn. Rainbow Dash is arrogant and self-centered. But who doesn't have a flaw, tell me?

 

Internet is really strange place, isn't it. You scroll thought it minding your own business and then -bam- you found place when people RP Yu-Gi-Oh. Well since I have a lot of free time I guess I can join it with my perfect English typing skills. I guess I can play with Toon-Girl-Abby while she's waiting for her opponent.

I believe you can do this by using Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force by targeting Fairy Cheer Girl.

And just curious, Why an old school Fairy Deck exactly? I would suggest something stronger like Counter Fairies instead. Also, imo a Beast deck would fit Fluttershy better. I think she should run Beast Synchro. Something with Rescue Cat and Rescue Rabbit etc.
