And that reminds me, I've been meaning to say this alot sooner:

Really Brooklyn? You honestly mean to tell me that you've gotten too lazy to even put a freaking picture in your custom cards? And I thought I was lazy...What is this world coming to?

I'm referring to that time when you Dueled Fred and played some kind of card with demon in it's name and then Fred says "What a cute little demon".

 

I was saying that with absolutely no basis for rhetorical purposes.

Also, most of the time you can't find a good image that fits with your idea of the archetype.

Edit: huh.. That was in this arena. Apparently this arena started in April and still only has 35 pages.

I can't believe what's become of this game now...Literally every single move somebody makes is a gamble now...They could set 2 facedowns but then boom 2 MSTs at their end phase...They could attack but then boom Mirror Force...They could summon a monster but then boom Solemn Warning or Torrential Tribute...

It may not have been true before but now I would have to say it really officially is...This game is now nothing but pure luck not skill...Only the person who was lucky enough to not get hit by any of the aforementioned cards is the one who wins now...And it's just a bunch of broken cards and decks trying to outdo each other...And the one who drew better is always the one who wins...There's no strategy or skill at all anymore just luck...

Luck has always been a factor in Yugioh, more in Vanguard, but that;s a different story but there's also other factors to the game. Beside, not everyone uses those cards in a duel.

 

In fact not even a majority.
I haven't seen a torrential in months. Might just be my luck, but i still haven't seen one in a while.

 

If you played more than one deck, you would know that that simply isn't true. You also talk about being rusty.. There should be no such thing if there's nothing to the game but luck. You can't be too rusty to roll a pair of dice.

Luck is the decider in very low level play, and to a much lesser extent in super high level play. In upper-mid level play, which is where I played with my Fables, the better player with the better deck will win 90% of the time unless the skill levels are very close. It is rare to find someone who is close enough to you in skill that you can get a score like 10-7 against through extended play. There are a few exceptions which have a fairly static win rate unless you have tech against them, such as Exodia, Quasar, and Wind-up Loop, but most decks aren't like that.
When I played with my Fables there were a lot of worse moves I could have made that weren't terrible moves but would have lost me the game. There were also times where there were better moves that even I could see but I missed the first time around, causing me to lose when I could have won.
