But anyway the funny thing is Ho-oh is said to only appear before the pure of heart. But I certainly don't think I'm pure of heart...

 

I could make some analogies to make a point.. But instead I'm just going to say that there is no such thing as "Pure of heart" simply because there is nothing for it to be. Would it simply be no having any bad thoughts? In that case someone who has no concept of right and wrong is pure of heart, even if they go around kicking puppies for entertainment. Is it having all of the good thoughts? No one can have all of them, as many are mutually exclusive and most wouldn't even be prompted. There is no definition for "Pure of heart" that doesn't exclude people who should probably be included or include people who probably should be excluded.

 

Why? This is the Playground and we could do it ourselves, so we don't have to stick entirely to all that EV's and IV's idiocy/nosense... And I thought it'd be cool to have an alternative to dueling in the RP's. The battles would be for fun and even the Good VS Evil battles shouldn't be that difficult... I mean, we just had one several pages ago (Finn VS Joker).

And I want to use my team so badly! (I tried to find good pics of the 'mons that are in my team. Also, I had Vaporeon, Umbreon, Magcargo, Camerupt, Gardevoir, Abomasnow, Gengar, Magmortar, Shaymin and Giratina as the rest of my best leveled-up 'Mons. But these are my favorites)

Staraptor! Fancy meeting you here. It's been a while.

Staraptor was always my ace pokemon back in Pearl, but as I've lost the game cartridge (And the DS) I haven't seen him in a long time.

 

Me and Yakumo already explained why it's too much trouble...

And no thanks. I'm done with Pokemon Battles here. I've proven that I'm horrible at them and that the bad guy is gonna win every time...

 

I'm not a pro, dude... I just did the research... Bulbapedia is yout best friend when it's necessary to know about effectiveness, legal attacks, abilities, etc...

I also tend to chose my Pokémons more according to my favorites, not strength and as such they usually tend to be much weaker than the really good 'mons. (The aforementioned list? I tend to use Magmortar and Giratina more, but I just found out about Staraptor's usefulness and Medicham's Mega Evolution so... I was planning to re-train them)

Oh, you misunderstand my intentions. That's explanation why this is problem. You need at least 1, preferably 2 people to do this math. And unless you find somebody willing to do it, then I don't see any legit pokemans battle going on in a future. And there is still this thing.

Yeah about that...I've thought this through and I'm gonna either drop out of the RP or switch characters. The ponies are whats making me want to stay. I dunno how we're gonna get Rainbow Dash back though...That's really sad...

But anyway, For awhile now I've just been RPing standard style having actual fight scenes with people in RPs involving swords and whatnot. So I'm probably gonna switch characters. I might use an OC or something,

I'm gonna use other characters too. I really wanted to use characters from my other favorite anime, Lyrical Nanoha.

 

If there were real interest in a game-mechanics based Pokemon Arena, I could write a program to calculate damage and such. But I don't think anyone wants that. Just have pokemon battles like in the anime. Screw the rules and let Pikachu kill Onyx with Thunderbolt if you really want to. They did that in the anime.

Well.. they're getting closer and closer to the anime. Well, not in official battles, but via NPC, an intimacy system had been added in which a pokemon can now survive with 1 hp without holding a focus item. My beloved Darkrai survived two hits with 1 hp through that system <3
I think it also gives increased crit rates.
again, this is only against NPC and wild battles.

In Pokemon X and Y your Pokemon will sometimes survive an otherwise fatal attack with one HP if it likes you enough.

Yes, we should have anime version of Pokémon Battles, lol! But we'll implement something that's probably new to them! And it's called logic!
