@Monica: No worries. Usually you should include an image of a summoned card like Dark Paladin but I understand if you can't. I'll just look the cards up.

    -Draw Phase-
    6 cards in hand.
    -Standby Phase-
    Nothing.
    -Main Phase 1-
I play Heavy Storm. 5 cards in hand.

    Do you counter?

Oh, and just to give you guys a heads up, I'm gonna remove that hand refill thing.

Before you ask I'll tell you why:

    1. I Wanna Play The Game Legitimately. I Wanna Play It RIGHT. The Way It's MEANT To Be Played. And so should all of you for that matter.

    2. Duels are better without it.

    3. There are certain cards that are abuseable with it. Examples: Secret Barrel, Des Koala, Tempest Magician etc.

Surely you guys can't argue with this...

I don't think that's a good idea to be honest.
Why wouldn't you just keep the choice open for duelists? The current system works: sometimes you play with it, sometimes you play without it.
You can demand your challengers to play without it for all I care but banning it from the arena is going a little too far for my taste.

Personally I would keep hand refill optional but I think every duelist should prove that they can play without it, though I can't think of a system to do that at the moment.

You can't play it 100% by the book anyway since this arena disables certain luck effects. You'll never be able to completely reconstruct a real-life duel here though I commend your attempt to try.

In a certain way yes but in another way they are "worse".
Take my duel with LilBueno for example. When you play without hand refill, the dominance over the duel is often decided in the first few turns. When you look at it like that, hand refill can be more exciting. Hand refill doesn't kill the need for a good strategy; you just have to think about other things.

Can't argue with that. It is a good system to test out combos imo though.

Mixt makes a perfectly valid point. When someone MST's one of your cards, its SUPPOSED to be random, but "random" can't work in this arena, so you just choose. It's the same with Dark Coffin.

I think I see what you're getting at now...
Suppose someone has three cards face-down. One of these cards has an effect that activates when the card is destroyed (e.g. Dark Coffin). When someone would activate MST in a real-life duel it would be a matter of luck that he chooses that card that would activate upon its destruction. There are two other cards that could have been selected after all.
In this arena however, the opponent can simply choose to have that card targeted and destroyed to trigger its effect.
You meant something like this right?

That's exactly what I meant. I have no idea why it's so hard for Jaden to see this in the first place.

Okay, That does it![IMG] This Is The Last Straw![IMG]

I don't know how the hell you guys can't see the difference in Dark Coffin and MST on a facedown card...But there IS a difference.

I can clearly see that I'm not gonna be able to explain it to you...Since you guys are unable to see it I really don't know what to say...

Do you guys really wanna drive me away from my second home and send me back to my other home? The one where I'm just a poor broken shell of a man who has no life? I've been to this site and back to get away from my real life problems so many times I could get a discount price on my tickets...

This is your Final Warning. Do NOT argue with me ANYMORE. I CAN and WILL leave this site if you push me far enough.

    NO ONE EVEN SAID THAT.
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS DRAMATIZE EVERYTHING?

THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT CARDS.

    CARDS.

IT'S NOT ABOUT YOUR LIFE, OR YOUR SECOND HOME, OR ANY OF THAT SHІT.

WHAT WE WANT, IS AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE "RANDOM" MECHANIC, AND FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND OUT POINT, BUT PLAINLY THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

NOW PLEASE, EXPLAIN IN DETAIL WHY DARK COFFIN IS ANY MORE LUCK BASED THAN MST SO WE CAN GET THIS OVER WITH, AND STOP BEING SO FREAKING DRAMATIC.

What do you mean Dramatize Everything?

I didn't mean I would just leave The Arena I said I would leave The Entire Site...

And I just said that since you guys are unable to see the difference between MST and Dark Coffin I don't know what to say. I tried to explain to you guys as best as I could how Dark Coffin is Luck Based. But I really don't know what to say since you guys don't understand...

Well guys...I guess this is goodbye...

Since Xakota is leaving that pretty much puts me out of business anyway...

We all know that there is gonna be Pure Chaos here without him...

And besides the fact that my Final Warning was not heeded...

    *tear rolls down cheek*

A Mod can close This Thread now...[IMG]

Goodbye everyone...[IMG] I'm disabling private messaging...[IMG] And I'll be making a Departure Lobby Thread shortly...[IMG]

If I do return to this site it will only be to pop in and check on new Kingdom Hearts Updates and whatnot.

    But I won't be posting...

This is where I wish I knew where you lived so I could try and beat some sense into you. Just because people aren't seeing it your way on an issue you're just going to leave? You're not even trying to explain your point, your just playing the abandoned card (which when you actually look at it you're abandoning us, not the other way arround). And as a friend of yours, if you are really finding being here to be THAT stressful, then go. But if it's how I think it is, you'll leave to back up your words, decide later you made a mistake, and come back later (likely under a different name). But really you're just hoping we won't call that bluff.

This is just like Yugi vs. Seto at duelist Kingdom. Yugi gains the upperhand in thier duel, Seto stands on the ledge declairing that the force from the finishing blow will knock him off sending him to his death, thus forcing Yugi to forfit.

Problem with that strategy for you is that we are to stubborn to cave in like that. Now you have the choice of stepping down and discussing this at face value, or continue to play it like you are and force yourself to leave the site.

    So...Anything still happening here?

Jaden dueled Ruon, the latter did an arguable move and Jaden declared her the loser but Xakota objected. Then there was an argument about what we should make of the word "random" on a card effect.
Oh, and Jaden got pissed and left.

Indeed it is. I might want to wait before participating in something again until after Tuesday, but I'd love to take a seat in the stands with a jumbo bag of popcorn and watch in the meantime.
