Priority is used to determine what cards in a chain are activated first. It does not override the rule that traps cannot be activated on the same turn that they are set, otherwise said rule would not exist because you could either use it as a counter during that turn or activate it however during the turn after.

It's a little thing called common sense.

And not trying to get around the rules in the cheapest way possible to make yourself look like a good duelist.

I'm seeing a lot of that second one lately.

If I remember correctly, the rules for activation are different for them.

 

The effect of Statue of the Wicked activates in the GRAVEYARD. he didn't just set it and activate it, that's completely different. and that has NOTHING to do with priority.

I play 3 graceful charities so I have 6 cards in my grave and 6 cards in my hand and play cost down to summon vampire lord and I play double summon to summon vampire' cursethen I special summon Vampire genesis by removing Vampire lord from play then I attack dark magician with Vampire's curse dealing 500lp dmage to me then I attack with Vampire genenis dealing 500lp damage to you

Ok and I activated my facedown rope of life which summons Dark Magcian back to the field and I activate magic cylinder dealing 3000 lp damage to your life points and I attack vampire gensis and activate magcian's circle allowing me to sp. summon Dark magician girl to the field you lose 300 more lp from battle and I attack you directly dealing 2000 points of damage
