no, 4Kids refused to dub it cuz the whole thing was rated PG 13.

 

4kids: Crap we want to make this a kid's show.. uhm.. right, cut out the entire first season, then put some of the plot relevant stuff in the next season.

Pretty much what Fred says here. IT may not have been when it started, but with their editing, modifying, and cutting, they for the most part turned it into a kids show. I fail to see what the real problem is. If you wish for the original, I'm sure you can find the jap version subbed. I mean if your looking for blood and fan-service, there are plenty of other anime that can provide without the blocks.

 

they're honestly just making a PG 13 anime look childish...
in the subbed version, both of Sherry's parents were shot and killed.

Its because the english version has people question why or how this happened...
for example, Jaden never came back in the english dub of GX, 5Ds ended strangly quick, and the stuff they cut out or edit in the Zexal series...
I have seen people ask why sherry was apart of Yliaster at one point..
I understand 4Kids want to make it "4Kids" but they're just doing it wrong...
the reason why they ended 5Ds was, from what I heard, 5Ds wasnt all that popular.
and the reason why it wasnt that popular was because they didnt explain things like the japanese version, cut out things that didnt need to be cut out or was said to be "irrelevant" to the story...
they thought Jack getting Scar Red Nova Dragon wasnt important to the story...so they just cut 2 whole episodes out -_-
So in the english dub, Jack just all of a sudden got Scar Red Nova Dragon.
just poof! new key monster added to your deck.

 

and then Yusei goes "I have no idea where he got that card!"

it just makes the story seem...less of a story >_>
and you being the reader, should know all that is going on...or atleast have a clue of whats going on.
not the ending going, *sky clears up* "we are saved!" The End.
after Aporia was defeated...I mean...seriously? it felt like we just wasted our time watching the whole series only to see a lame ending like that.

 

No one likes 4kids because they assume that we're all children.
Yugioh is NOT a kids show. Zexal is debatable, but it is most certainly not. Season 0, DM, AND 5D's all prove this.

The lines are idiotic, the name changes just make no sense half of the time, and a stupid amount of stuff is skipped.

Don't call me a weeaboo for this, but I greatly dislike 4kids dubs because they turn an Anime for men into a cartoon for six year olds.

I couldn't help but just laugh at how Aporia accepted everything was over with the most horrified and hilarious tone of voice possible.
Love how he lampshaded 4kids' end of 5D's with that immediately too.
