The effect isn't stupid broken, but it's not incredibly weak either. And everyone runs it in Disaster as a 3000 ATK beater that doesn't have flavor text.

other things it removes from play is pretty pointless.

The additional effect is for Exceeds.
Banishing other stuff still has benefits. Opening direct attacks, erasing stat boosts, perma effects, killing equips, even opening a way through Secret Village, etc.

 

and thats IF I let someone summon 2, 2000+ atk monsters...
thats probably the only way to summon it out before I destroy every monster your field...then you cant summon Galaxy eyes lol
I think of it as a dead draw =/...unless you have Red eyes metal dragon to special summon Galaxy eyes though...that would be annoying...

Dead Exceeds with 2000+ ATK

these are only a few ways.

Plus, you can't always stop someone from getting 2 2000+ ATK monsters. That's saying you'll always have a Solemn Warning set.
Exceeds/Synchros/Regular Monsters/etc, they can do it anyway.

if not, Galaxy eyes just stays in your hand...and the opponent just keeps destroying your other monsters.

but if you normal summon Photon Lizard to get Photon Slasher then special summon Photon slasher...
the only way you could get out your other 2000+ monster is by using Photon Lead...
(well...thats the only photon card I can think of that does that xD)

 

... That's why you wait until you have both Slasher and Crusher in your hand, THEN go for it.
Or just SS Slasher and have him hold the fort until Crusher.

yeah but when it first came out in the anime, I saw Wikia said "Photon Lizard + Photon Lizard"...unless I was seeing things o_o

when it first came out there WAS NO anime effect...
it only said 1 effect on wikia...and that was the anime effect.
