" That would be really cool!" agreed Layla, smiling. Layla too put her bag on the back of the chair next to Ben and sat next to him.

Jack's hand had gone to his wand at the threat of a duel but released its grip now. He had two more years of spells under his belt than Juliet and four more than Tybalt; he could beat them both easily. He watched the four leave the Great Hall, extremely frustrated that he'd have to wait to manipulate Faye and Olivia any further. He needed more people with him now more than ever; all he had was Taralynn. A smug smile grew of his face. Taralynn was perfectly perfect. Now that his thoughts were on her, he finally noticed that she hadn't shown up for breakfast. He grabbed a glass of orange juice, an apple, and a bagel. Taralynn was probably still sleeping because she, like Jack, had a free period for the first hour. Jack saw no harm in bringing her breakfast. With everything he needed, he finally left the Great Hall and started walking back to the Slytherin common room.

    -------

"Good morning, students," Professor Umbry entered the greenhouse, taking a her place at the front of the class table, and greeted her class. She tapped her wand on the table to bring the class to attention. Quickly, she scanned the students and noticed that Rayna Spare and Jacob Starlit were not yet in their seats. But that was their problem and not hers. "Today we will be having a special class. I apologize for the awkward timing here," she cleared her throat, "but I'm sure you'll enjoy today regardless. Today, I will be answering any appropriate questions you have. And if you'd all like to get your hands on some plants, we can go to the greenhouse next door and see what's there."

Ben smiled. He wanted to go see what plants were in the greenhouse.

Flying. Boy, she was getting to excited. Again with her mind getting mixed up with the schedule. It was Potions next, not Flying. ”So uh... what are your first periods?” Faye asked in a sweet, kind of lost voice. She just wanted the tense feeling to go away. Kind of like an icebreaker. She looked by the two beside her, then back at the older Gryffindor female. Oh. Jack wasn't anywhere to be found. He must have gone for his first period, whatever that was. She looked back straight ahead. Not even a goodbye. Well, she was whisked away - but didn't friends say goodbye?

OOC: I've missed a lot, eh?

Jacob scanned the books. No topics on the Chamber of Secrets. He peered back into the darkness of the Restricted section, slowly pushing the book away. He stood and stated into the fading light, rows of mysterious books running down the hall in a collection of magical shapes. He sighed. He picked up the books and slid them into their places on the shelves. He walked out of the library, and changed direction to the Greenhouse. He shouldn't be too late for Herbology

OOC: Sorta, I just scan what I miss, because I get confused on what's what

Silea walked through the halls, looking for her Potions class. She had left early and yet she still managed to get herself lost, again. Silea always had a bad habit of getting lost in this school because of her curious nature and she would always get distracted and lost track of where she was. "Well, maybe if I'm lucky I'll at least stay lost long enough that I miss Potions." She continued walked until she found herself in front of the library doors. "...Am really so lost I walked in circles and ended up at the library?" Silea hung over herself, depressed that she still couldn't find her way around this place.

"So do you wanna go look at plants?" asked Layla.
"I hope we do something interesting. Herbogoly really isn't my favorite subject."

Taralynn woke up with a start, catching herself before she banged her head on the book in her lap. She was sitting on one of the stiff, high-backed couches in the Slytherin common room, dozing off frequently. Her school robes were bunched up on top of her school bag next to her; she wouldn't put them on until she absolutely had to. She wore a dark green tube top today, with tight, black skinny jeans and leather stiletto heels. Not hungry, Taralynn hadn't gone down to the Great Hall for breakfast, and everyone else that had free periods or were skipping class knew well enough to keep a good distance from her seat. She had several potions textbooks with her, but only one was open in her lap that she'd fallen asleep on, and the pages were covered anyway by her diary.

Her father had given the leatherbound book to her in her first year at Hogwarts, telling her that, being the youngest, she had the potential and expectation to be the best: watching all her brothers and sisters before her, Taralynn should be perfect by their example. This diary was where she was supposed to put her ideas, feelings, and extra thoughts, he had said; anything that would cloud her mind needed to be put on paper to keep from distracting her. Over the years, Taralynn had used it as she had been told, but lately all she wrote were her feelings, nothing important or more detailed. She would seal the book shut with a charm when she finished.

Glancing down at the page in front of her now, she righted her ink bottle (charmed to not spill when knocked over) and straightened her quill, staring at the last word she had written before falling asleep: "Jack." How did she actually feel about the boy? Sighing, she put the end of her quill in her mouth, thinking.

Ro wandered around the school's corridoors, trying to remember just where Potions class actaully was.
"Sorry!" she said automatically as she walked into something, before relising it was actually....a wall.
"Today is not my day...And I don't even know whos in my class!". Exasparated at everything in general,Ro decided to sit against the wall she walked into and look for a familer face,or a teacher...whichever came first.

Tybalt glanced over at Faye when he heard her question. "Mine's History of Magic," He groaned. Every time he thought of that class, it just seemed to depress him. The professor was boring and Tybalt just wasn't good with history--period. "What's yours?"

Fantastic, Olivia thought, She's going to fallow us to class now... Even she wasn't smart enough to outwit someone someone older than her - but she couldn't forced into giving up by authority! She would have to find a way to the library before she stepped into class.

She was still thinking when Faye asked her the question, "Oh..." she began, "I have History of Magic first, with Smives... I'm actually really dreading it, she's not a very nice woman..." she replied. And that was another reason to get away; she wasn't exactly on level with Professor Smives, considering she had gotten in trouble a little more than a few times in her class... Olivia glanced over her shoulder at the older Juliet - she had to get away...

"Faye, what class do you have?" she asked, looking for away out - if only she knew what class Juliet had, it be easier to get away...

Jacob walked through the halls, sighing. He suddenly noticed a small group of kids still in the hall. Were they... he'd seen them before. They were engaged in conversation and walking down the hall. He knew one of them was Olivia, fro Ravenclaw. He waved towards them, calling, "Hey! How's it going?" He walked up towards them. "Wow, it's a nice little group here." he said with a smile.

Jack walked at a pace that was just quick enough to not spill the orange juice; it was a tricky thing to do while going down all the stairs that led to Slytherin's common room. As he walked, he mentally listed the names of students he knew for sure weren't pureblooded. He already knew which student was going next: a fourth year Ravenclaw boy who had rather irked him at the last Dueling Club. The filthy, half-blooded boy was terrible at charms and the definition of "disgrace-to-wizardry." Jack couldn't wait to throw the kid into the Chamber -- more entertainment for his pet.
"Flying troll. Hurry up and let me in, you idiot." Jack snapped at the stone wall as it slowly moved aside, revealing the passageway to the common room. Why didn't his House have a painting or statue that took the password? Probably because one of the students would defile it or, even better, blast it to bits. Jack didn't understand how the Ravenclaws dealt with such an obnoxious, riddle-dealing raven.

    -------

"Professor Umbry," A boy student down the table from Ben and Layla spoke up. "I know I'm not the only one who wants to ask this, but I'll be the one who does: Could you tell us anything about what's been going on?"

"I believe you're referring to the doors of the Great Hall and the writing that was on them yesterday, Mister Goldom?" Professor Umbry began, clasping her hands over her chest. She looked at her students and saw that they all wanted an answer. She could not deny them. "I trust you all know how Hogwarts was founded from your History of Magic classes. You know from your families and friends, and you will learn more in later years in History of Magic, about Harry Potter and all he did."

Ben scooted to the edge of his seat, eyes wide with curiosity.

"The staff, including myself, has speculated that," she paused, unsure if she should continue, "This is just a guess on our part... We have no evidence... But some have suggested that the Chamber of Secrets is what the writing on the doors was referring to. It could be other things though. You shouldn't worry yourselves too much just now." Ben raised his hand. "Yes, Benjamin?"

"But if it is open Professor," Ben frowned now. "If the Chamber of Secrets is open, aren't the students in danger? My parents told me that when Harry Potter was here at Hogwarts, students were petrified and the school was almost closed. There was a monster in the Chamber."

"That is all true," Professor Umbry nodded. "But we know the location of the entrance to the Chamber and it is sealed. No magic or Parseltongue will open it."

Ben looked at Layla to see her reaction. Professor Umbry's answer had raised more questions than answers for Ben. He was puzzling even more about what was going on.

" This is getting weirder and weirder..." Layla mumbled. She sighed wishing they could just start class and forget about this. Somewhere deep inside she really hoped this was some big joke...
"I really hope it isn't open," she said to Ben closing her eyes

Taralynn frowned to herself, frustrated that things weren't as black and white as she always tried to see them. Swearing under her breath, she drew a circle around Jack's name several times, the ink almost sinking through to the next level of paper in the diary. A sudden voice broke her out of her thought process:

    "Hey, Tara!"

She looked up from her book to see a nervous student standing in front of her. The girl must have been a first or second year, judging by her huge, frightened eyes, giant sack of books, and disheveled look. Taralynn let out a slow sigh, biting the inside of her lower lip to keep her temper. The little girl's school robes were too big on her, dragging and catching under her dirty old shoes. How the hell did an ugly thing like this get into Slytherin? she thought. And why did she call me Tara? No one gets to do that and not walk away without their nose in several pieces... Taralynn swallowed her anger, however, and raised her eyebrows at the girl, waiting for whatever she had to say.

"I, uh..." the young student began uncertainly. She looked over her shoulder for a moment, and then continued, "I was told that you could help me find one of my classes. I know I'm already late, but they said you could help me. Please!"

Taralynn glanced over the girl's shoulders at the group of sneering sixth year boys that had obviously pointed the poor kid in her direction. She gave them the most dangerous look she could muster, but they were all a lot bigger than her, several of them laughing and flipping her off when they saw her face.

"Listen, honey," Taralynn began, turning her attention to the young student in front of her. "I'm the last person you'll want help from, okay? And from the looks of you, I think the Sorting Hat made a bad decision."

The girl's eyes widened further. "But... can you just point me in the right direction? And... what do you mean, a... b-bad decision? That's quite rude coming from someone with your reputation!"

Taralynn's temper flared, and her hand dove into her robes next to her, grabbing the end of her wand. "My reputation is more than you could ever hope or dream to aspire to, you little brat," she snapped quietly. "Look at yourself; someone like you... blood like that... a pathetic family like yours should have been snuffed out a hundred years ago. Now... turn around and wander this castle until you starve for all I care. If you're lucky I won't send anyone after you with a few special spells in mind."

The little girl choked on her reply, tears now running down her face. She turned around to leave, muttering, "bitch," under her breath as she went.

Fuming, Taralynn whipped her wand out, letting one of her favorite curses fall from her lips in the tiniest whisper. The stupid girl began screaming a moment later, everyone near her in the common room jumping and turning her way. Taralynn gave the girl a sweet smile when she spun, staggering on her long robes, to look at her in shock. The girl's skin had turned a bright red, the solid, almost blinding color of a freshly smarting sun burn. As the girl put her hands up to her face, she shrieked further, finding the skin there just as crimson.

"Oh, please," Taralynn sighed, looking back down at her diary as the girl ran out of the common room, still yelling at the top of her lungs. "It doesn't hurt; now you just look the nasty Mudblood color that you are on the inside."

"What a great way to start the day," Jack walked up to Taralynn, watching the girl she'd just tormented leave. And that was a perfect example of why he enjoyed Taralynn's company. The other Slytherins in the common room shut their mouths when they saw Jack and Taralynn together. Smart of them. I guess they want to see tomorrow. He placed the orange juice, apple, and bagel he got for Taralynn on the table next to the couch. "You missed breakfast."

    -------

"Professor, I don't understand that," Ben said after nodding his agreement to Layla. "How come it can't be opened with Parseltongue?"

"Our Headmaster is a very talented wizard," Professor Umbry answered. "You see, students, magic is always growing. There are always new spells and potions be developed. Professor Clauson has created and advanced much magic during his time before becoming Headmaster of Hogwarts, as I'm sure you all know. Now, does anyone have a question related to Herbology?"

"Wow, it's a nice little group here," someone said from beside Olivia. She looked to her right to see Jacob Starlit, a third year in Ravenclaw.

"Hello Jacob," she said softly, and looked around to see the others, "Not really much of a group here though," she continued, wondering where Jack had gone off to, and Juliet was probably still behind them, "I was just off to class, I've got History of magic first hour..." she said.

It looked like going to the library was going to have to wait for a later time - she would have to plan that better. Maybe she could ask Professor Smives about it...but then again, that could probably be a bad idea...

Taralynn looked up at Jack, a small smile on her face. She snapped shut her diary smoothly, moving her wand over it just slightly to seal it shut. Glancing down at the food, her grin widened.

"Oh, did you get that for me?" she asked, clapping her hands together. "How sweet!" She put a foot up on the table, the heel clicking loudly in the quieted room. She was tempted to put out the mean group of boys that had sent her victim over to her and have Jack take care of them, but they had long since scattered away. Instead, Taralynn ran her hand over the empty half of the couch next to her.

"Would you sit with me?" she asked, flicking her wand back into her robe pocket.

Silea looked around, watching the students pass by her. She had given up trying to get to her Potions class, and she knew that she might regret it later, but she wasn't going to show up late either. She was just going to wait till Flying class came, since she knew how to get there. Flying was one of her favorite classes, next to DADA, and she couldn't wait for it. She kept looking at the library door, wanting to go in. "No, I can't go in right now, I need to wait till after my classes are done. If I need to, I'll come back after everyone's gone to bed." She rocked herself, getting impatiant waiting for her next class. She kinda hoped someone would come by so she could talk, but she didn't think anyone would, since they were probably smart enough to get to, and stay, in their classes

"We'll go see the plants then," Professor Umby smiled. "You all can look at them, ask questions if you need to, make notes or sketches if you'd like, but don't touch them. Some of the plants we keep can be dangerous."

Ben stood out of his stool with the rest of the class and followed Professor Umbry to the next greenhouse. "Hey Layla," he began, "You okay?"

    -------

Giving little mind to her comments, Jack sank next to Taralynn on the couch. The couches in the common room were his favorite; he needed something like this down in the Chamber. He looked at the Potions books on the table. "Studying?"
