Faye's attention was immediately caught as she heard the faintest sound of the name called. She twisted to look back at Olivia, who was looking back at her. Jack? Huh? What was this? ”P-pardon?” was all that escaped her mouth. She was confused and, well, she wasn't sure what else she was. She was suddenly hyped a bit, but at the same time not - maybe because she was being associated with someone for once. No one even did this in the muggle world, they didn't like her much. She was 'weird'. Now in Hogwarts, everything was changing.

Ben's usual happy expression turned to a worried and slightly frustrated frown. Where had Jacob come from? Ben hadn't noticed him; the library was pretty big after all. How was it that everyone was in this one section? Of course, it completely left his mind that they were all looking for the same information. But he didn't have the guts a Gryffindor was supposed to to tell Jacob that he didn't really want his help. So instead of telling one boy that he did want his help and the other that he didn't, he cowardly accepted both of them into his plans. "We'd like the help. What we wanted to know was what happened the other two times the Chamber was opened. Maybe we could find some clues in those stories that will help us now."

 

Jacob nodded. The kid seemed to be nervous. He shrugged. "Hey, I've already got a few ideas to work on by myself." he said slowly. "And I feel like you might have this covered."he finished. All the thoughts that had been passed around had given him some leads. He didn't know whether he had the time to spend with these first years. He bit his lip. "You're probably right, though. It'd be good to study past events."

 

Jay breathed out loudly through his mouth. "That's some heavy stuff guys. I'll see what I can gleen from the professors." he suggested, knowing he'd have better luck than the new kids getting the teachers to let any important information out. A glance at this watch told him he didn't have time for his experiment today, but this Chamber of Secrets buisness seemed much more important anyways. "Also, I suggest the restricted section for your research. These books," a long sweep of his arm indicated the majority of the library which was open to anyone, "might give you a glimpse of information, but I doubt anything important will come from a government installed textbook." The old Jay smile poped back on his lips. "I can get you a pass there if you have any trouble. Fly safe." he saluted them, laughing at his usual muggle joke, and walked off to find Al. He wouldn't get the first years in trouble, but he respected Al and he wanted to know what she knew so far.

 

"'Fly safe?'" Ben was a bit confused by Jay's parting message. He nodded to Jacob, biting his lip. "I've heard some different stories about what happened with Harry Potter, so I thought I might find better facts in books. But... um... How do you feel about all of this?"

Wolfsbane... Wolfsbane... Wolfsbane... I've got to try that one again some time. Al stared at her half-eaten chicken salad and poked a baby tomato with her fork. But then... maybe I should just try a different one. Wolfsbane is supposed to be one of the hardest to brew anyway. I shouldn't be so down about not getting it the first time. Maybe if I go for an after-classes lesson again, I'll figure out what I did wrong. As usual, her mind was on Potions. Her earlier class was easy for her; she'd been the first to correctly brew the Babbling Beverage. But now she was starting to wonder more about what those kids in the library were doing.

 

Jay made his way past groups of students inbetween the library and the great hall. He was still smiling at his little joke to the first years but his eyes showed worry. Upon entering the great hall his eyes scanned the Hufflepuff table for Al; finding her, he made his steathy way to stand behind her. "Hey pretty lady, is this seat taken?" he asked, putting on his best rouge smile while he swung his long legs around the bench to sit before she could answer no.

Rayna raised an eyebrow towards the girl curiously, tilting her face. She knew most of what she knew from the stories of the great Harry Potter, herself. So this research was probably much needed. She didn't get a chance to say this to the girl, though, before someone suggested something that made her perk up and frown. To invade the headmasters office for a book? The restricted section? She wasn't sure exactly how far with this she wanted to go, after all. She was definitely curious and excited, but was it really her place to meddle? Did she really want to risk getting sent home already? In her first year? She shrank, once again, into her seat nervously. ​

 

Jacob frowned. "Well, I feel like it's kind of our duty to protect the school, right? Sure, we have the professors, but we're the ones who learn here."he said with conviction. "And I like your take on Harry Potter. If he could do it, we can too, eh? But I'm pretty sure all the good information isn't going to be out in the open..."

 

Taralynn changed her mind halfway to the History of Magic classroom; what was the point in going so damn early anyway? And, knowing Jack, there was no way he would be in class this early anyway. Let's see, she thought, making her way down the stairs yet again. Where would he be right now? I'm not sure if he ate breakfast or not, so maybe he was hungry after all... the Great Hall it is, then.

A few minutes later Taralynn reached the Great Hall, all set up for lunch. There were still a decent amount of students in it, and Taralynn spotted Jack, sitting on his own at a table. She slowly made her way up behind him and wrapped her arms around his head, covering his eyes.

"Guess who?" she laughed, still extremely proud of herself for what she found out so far. But she knew Jack would get upset, so she quickly removed her hands and took a seat next to the boy. "Wanna know what I found out?"

 

OOC: Since I've been missing on some stuff, I'm just going to start back up at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall.

Silea looked through some of her notes that she took while she was in the library. She tried to find something that would be of use, but she just couldn't find anything.
"I think I'd be better off asking the ghosts than going through these notes. I mean, I took so much, but none of them seem to actually help." Silea scratched he head, frustrated that she couldn't find any hints about the Chamber of Secrets. "I guess there is one other person I can ask other than the ghosts, but I don't think it would work the way I want."

 

Tybalt's eyes widened up. He knew that it was a bad idea to think out loud. "Olivia, are you insane," Tybalt nearly yelled. Then his voice went to a hoarse whisper. "We can't just break into the Headmaster's office. There are reasons why it's so heavily guarded. We'd have to get escorted by a professor for some reason or another."

 

Oliva closed the book that sat in front of her and Tybalt after she looked away from Faye and the other girl named Rayna, "But . . ." she began to argue, "I want to know more - I really, really do." she told him honestly, "I don't want to get in trouble, that's not

exactly my MO, but I want to know more about this - it could save people - it could save the school. I know that I'm not the hero type like Harry Potter was, but if you could do something to stop terrible things, wouldn't you?"

And she sighed, "Besides, I'm not exactly ready to do something so big, not just yet - or not at all." she continued, "I'm just trying to - to broaden our thinking . . . Not to mention, I'm sure we could come up with a decent reason to get into the Headmaster's office . . ." she said while twiddling her thumbs smally.

 

Silea stuffed her notes and books into her bag. She had had just about enough note taking and research to last the whole year. "Maybe I'll go and try to find Layla or Ben. Maybe they've found something interesting." She got up from the table and walked out of the Great Hall. She didn't actually know where they were, but she had a good guess as to where at least one of them was. "I guess I should head over to the Library, either Layla or Ben, if not both, is probably trying to find information as well." Silea began walking toward the Library, hoping they were there, because she wanted to hear that they found something.

 

"Well what should we do now?" Layla wondered aloud to Ben and Jacob "Maybe we should all meet back here later-like after classes?"

Faye looked at all the others and listened to what they had to say. She gave a sigh inside when they had backed out of their ideas. She did not want to do that, not one bit. Go into the headmaster's office without permission (at least, this is what she pieced together after listening into everyone)? It was mega-crazy. ”After classes doesn't sound bad at all. We can even do whatever work the next few classes decide to dump on us.” Faye said with a shrug. Okay, this was not her reasons at all. However, Faye really didn't want to miss her next class: Flying! She's been waiting for this all day. She hoped that they could just do whatever, or even learn some Quidditch! She'd love just to calm her mind and free herself of anything while in flight.

Ben smiled at Jacob; they shared the same view on what was happening. After classes, they had more time to search than they did now. And they could come back after they finished eating dinner too. "Yeah; we should do that. I have History of Magic next so I could try to ask some questions there."

Jack placed his glass on the table and looked at Taralynn. He wasn't in the mood for her games, but he did want to hear what she had to say. "Tell me then."

Al grinned at Jay. "What happened to watching those kids in the library?" She didn't really care too much; she was more worried about getting through the rest of her classes and finding Becca.

 

"Well.... I have..." Layla thought for a moment trying to remember her classes. " Oh I have Transfigurations and then History of Magic. And after that I having flying..." Oh joy she thought to herself. Flying was not one of her favorite things-mostly because she was scared of heights.

 

For a moment Jay looked a little worried as he thought about the first years. "They're fine. Just doing some research. I'm going to check in on them every so often though, they seem a bit freaked out. You might want to just make sure you know their faces too, in case they need any help." he explained without his usual humor. But soon enough that grin was back on his face and his flirtatious eyes were sparkling at his head of house. "And what are you up to, m'lady?"

 

"Flying is fun," Ben said, noticing that Layla didn't seem to fond of the class. "If you're doing what I did, you'll enjoy it." He remembered flying on the Quidditch pitch and his smile widened. He couldn't wait to be a part of Gryffindor's team.

Al sighed and rolled her eyes. "Trying to figure out what I keep doing wrong with Wolfsbane. It's the only potion that's ever given me trouble. And I want to get it right before I leave Hogwarts." She took another bite of her salad.

 

"Sure if you like heights," Layla said rolling my eyes. "Well what did you guys do in class?" she wondered.
